We are also known as the Granite State Air Crew (NH) but I figured it would be best to include more than just New Hampshires 15 mile coastline even though we almost always ride out of Hampton Beach State Park in NH. We are a mixed bag of riders with a few Superjets, Blasters, X2's and tow boats we call couches.:noevil:

I have ridden a spot in Maine called Higgins Beach and I know a bunch of guys in the Crew have gone to Gloucester, MA a bunch and down near the Cape as well. I stick to Hampton mostly because it is the closest surf break to the boat launch, which s important when you are doing dumb stuff that breaks jet skis and body parts.

Our ages range from 17 to 50 something so all are welcome.

We just had the races at Salisbury beach this weekend .It was fun to hang out at a jet ski scene but the racing was a little boring because the surf was so calm .I would have liked head high rollers to make it a bit more interesting .

Basically the fastest holeshot won every race .it was just follow the leader after the first turn .

Anyone know of a New England dealer with 2 SXRs in stock. Me and a friend are looking to pick up a pair but NY has a ban on 2 stroke sale of models that are 2006 and newer. Thanks in advance for the leads.

Go down the back strip that heads south to the pont it joins the northbound traffic just before the bridge to Seabrook. On you right is the parking lot for all the fishing trip and wale watch boats. That is the same parking lot ffor the ramp. Drive in to the toll both thing and it will cost $10 per boat to launch with parking included.

There won't be waves at high tide ever. Check the chart and go at low tide. You will find wave after you go under the bridge and past the rocky point on the right about 100 yard off shore wher ethe sand bar is. It will be knee deep at dead low out there in the shallowest spot.

Tide chart:
http://www.maineharbors.com/nh/augham07.htm

Wave cam:
http://www.itsabeach.com/hb/cgi-bin/itsabeach.cfm?BodyName=home

If the web sit for the wave cam says 1.5 ft wave height or better you will find a little something out there to jump. The wave are always a little bigger where we ride than where this cam is.

RideItLikeYouStoleIt
08-12-2007, 08:28 PM
I found the spot. We went cruising for a while looking for what you were talking about but we also just wanted to check it out. We found a sand bar pretty much right at the end of the canal on the left. There was waves breaking right around low tide. I snapped my pole on like the 3rd wave though. It really is only waist deep if that.

Legdragger

Me and my bud live near Worcester, MA. I was disappointed I always write on the X but never met anyone from on here. I was hoping to run into someone else. Just a few couchers and some old fart on an sxr. Its fun out there but the water is frigid. Glad i ran back in the house before i left and got the wet suit. Let me know when you guys head out there me and my buddy will be down to go out. Well probably be going most sundays for the rest of the summer.

Oh and i meant the sand bar was on the right. Haha

I think we will probably go riding weds afternoon/evening at like 430-5 at chauncey. If you want to come give me a call 508-615-1239. Thats if i fix my pole. Im thinking about just waiting for the aluminum pole i bought but it might take too long and i want to go to hampton on saturday.

Thats awesome!!! Apparently some of you guys are insane. I have a 7 mil wetsuit that i use to scuba dive is that what it takes to handle that kind of temperature. Stole it you would have a new best friend if you could sell me at least three motor mounts if you have any. Just name your price. I want to get in on the action before it gets too cold. Just gotta get this thing going. Also I was wondering how I can free up a seized drivshaft, prop, and/ or pump? looks like the pump is still packed full of grease but it's wickid hard to turn. Any ideas?

How do you know its the pump? Is it out of the ski? If not could be a seized motor or just take the spark plugs out haha.

I dont have any motor mounts i can part with. I have mainly engine components like cranks, cases, bedplates, that sort of thing.

MisterCrash
08-27-2007, 08:10 PM
i dont know if it's the pump. Actually its probably not the pump. There's just a bunch of dirt and stuff in that whole area that is kinda gumming all up i think. I can turn the shaft with my hand I just don't know how freely it should spin. Just picked up a newly rebuilt motor today for 175 bucks that i'll bolt in tonight after i make some custom motor mounts to work for now. Legdragger where in NH are you? If you're close by i would just drive and pick the mounts up if you're okay with that, if not I guess I'll send you a money order. With any luck I'll be up and running for this weekend if you guys are going anywhere. Plenty of lakes by me that are 150 acres and larger. I need someone to teach me how to backflip. haha

RideItLikeYouStoleIt
08-28-2007, 02:21 PM
Its going to take alot longer than a weekend to backflip. Also, you certainly arent going to backflip on a lake on a 550. Im going to hampton on sunday I believe. I need to look at tide schedule to tell you exactly what time we will be going. Me and a buddy of mine will be there.

MisterCrash

Ya maybe i can make it if i can get everything done i need to on the ski. I was kidding about the backflip thing. I'll be happy if I learn how to hop it the first weekend. Sounds like fun at the beach. I'd pick them mounts up if I can make it. Anybody have Labor day off?

How much gas do you plan on using for a full day of riding? Are these things like sleds in that department. I know my rig has an old snowmobile motor in it.

hangtime
08-29-2007, 07:25 AM
We usually ride a couple hours at most .A 5 gallon can for a 550 should easily be enough :crutches::crutches:

RideItLikeYouStoleIt
08-29-2007, 11:16 PM
If you can go through 5 gallons you do alot of riding. That 550 is single carbed and uses gas like a hybrid. I guess ill see you guys there cause me and my buddy are going. I messed my back up screwing around on a couch i got for the girlfriend. I hope it relaxes by then.

How did the total loss like salt water?

RideItLikeYouStoleIt
09-03-2007, 12:26 AM
Didnt like it one bit. My battery died in like 30 minutes of riding. I only had a ytx12 in it so im going to go back to a 20AH and see how she fairs. Then to boot. Me and my buddy go back to the beach next to the ramp and im going to swap batteries and we hang out for like 15 minutes. We go back and our skis are floating away cause tide was coming in. I get to my ski and it was half sunk. Before i could get it in the thing sank to the bottom before i got it to shore. Got it out no problem but that ended the day right there. I am having horrible luck up there in NH.

I couldnt tell a huge difference with the total loss yet. I hadnt hammered on it too hard yet because i wanted to make sure it was going to run ok. That and only time i was on it really hard was up the waves.

I hope you get some good waves. They were pretty big today. I was getting about 15' off of them.

MisterCrash
09-03-2007, 08:27 AM
Yeah guy! I think that guy wants to trade. How are them super jets anyway? Seems like everyone around here favors them. I did get the kawasuki going though just gotta straiten the impeller out. I think the guy that owned it last tried to ride the thing on a snowmobile trail or something. If I get that thing by next weekend I throwin on the old seaquest suit and haulin to hampton.

Sorry to here about that trouble you had stole it. better luck next time.

Superjets are the best for freeride (carving ,jumping ,flipping ) and Kawasaki's are the best for racing .

well I got the 550 going finaly. Yesterday i took i to a nearby lake to try it out and see how its running. Man it's too much fun. gotta do a little carb tuning and some other adjustments but all in all I'm ready to rock. My body was thrashed after only an hour and a half of riding. This is gonna take some pratice.

We didn't go down because it looked totally flat on the web cam. That is a bummer the total loss was a pain. I have heard they are for fresh water use only. Between dual bilges running all the time and salt water corrosion I can see they might not like running in the surf. It is supposed to be the way to go for a sweet flatwater freestyle ski though.

If there isn't any surf this week we might get togehter on this little pond near Dover, NH to run a few boueys f or fun ad practice some flatwater tricks. You are invited up anytime. Just try to avoid a super loud water box, there are a couple houses on the pond.

This is the pond:

LOL.....if you got 15 feet of air on sundays waves, you must have accidentally bounced off a rock

Anybody to the beach this upcoming weekend. Now I have a ski that will actually start when i want it to and I want to try riding the surf. Or is this a bad idea for a beginner?

I got the 650 square late friday night and rode it all weekend. Now I can steer while standing up and stuff. I'm glad I can focus on learning now and not be worried about my 550 breaking every 10 minutes. Hampton should be empty now that the seafood fest is over?

Hello,

I am headed up to Cape cod next week, and would love to ride some surf if I could meet up with anyone wanting to ride.

I am willing to travel a bit, and would love to get my blaster out in some different surf if possible.

I will be out on the cape from Aug 25th to 29th

I used to ride Hampton Beach and the South End of Plum Island in the late 80s! Me and my brother were the only ones we ever saw in the surf in those days.
