whats up with the cheezy pic O?
Think of the name of the name as a place holder until something better comes along.

*sigh* You guys actually have enough riders in your area to warrant a section. I'm on the Gulf Coast WAYYYYYY UP in the frigging Panhandle. Since I'm not an East Coaster or a Left Coaster, what should my area be called? :frown:

well, since surrounded by a bunch of men here, will leave the up the middle cracks to them, but you could be "hurricane alley" or such.

Well I'm landlocked in Alabama now, but I still consider myself a "Bay Area Balla". Yeah I'm definitely calling cheese on that name.
Tim and Ollie,
I'll be home in Clearwater Labor Day weekend with my skis so if you guys are looking to do some riding to get the ski's/skills ready for Sebby let me know. I talked to Reed and he said he was gonna try and make it out.
There is a chance I might also be able to make it to Sebby that next weekend. We'll see. Sebby is pretty far from my school, but I might be able to make it.

My girlfriend is coming home with me for the weekend along with her sister and her sister's boyfriend so there is a really good chance I'll be taking the boat and ski's to an island to spend either Saturday or Sunday.
I sent you that google map awhile back. You more than welcome to come out to the island with or without your ski's and do some riding/grilling. Kay is more than welcome to come too (sorry if I didn't spell her name right).
That invite is welcome to Tim and Ollie as well and all "left coasters" for that matter.
Hope to ride with you guys this weekend. Hopefully that storms slows up and we can hit up Dunedin on Saturday. If it looks like it'll hit Friday then I'll skip class on Friday and drive down early Friday morning to ride with you guys.

By the way, I am really dissapointed in you bay area guys. It seems like you guys never go riding and you live so close to the water.
I live a good 45min-1hour from the nearest lake and I ride more than you guys. I wish I was still in Clearwater. You guys take it for granted being so close to the water
I am hitting up Lanier this weekend. Where do you guys recommend putting in at?

:haha: right on. get back to me after you're outta school and let me know if things change in regards to your riding opportunities my young guy goodlad! It's called obligations! LOL!:cool2: When and if the surfs up locally, my priorities suddenly change of course! I'd always love to ride more- anywhere, it just doesn't always work out... BTW, where the hell have you been for all our road trips huh? Matanzas, Sebby etc... blah blah blah.... j/k
Regarding Lanier, maybe PM "Jr" (Paul Lehr) and see if him or the area guys might be hooking up somewhere there locally this weekend? Think "jetsking" is out that way as well. Maybe search around some threads, I recall some of those guys talkin bout ridin couple weeks or so ago? I honestly don't know that area all that well...as far as putting in. I know there was a PDF camp ground map on the original 2006 Lanier thread though if that's any help... enjoy!

what is all the excitement about? the track is gong to cahnge like a million times before it gets here and it will go from a TS to a cat 4 and back twice. and most likely it will just rain off and on. By the way Jeb bush has issued a severe hurricane warning and we should all be packing and leaving the state.
Also because a hurricane is in the vicinity of Florida all our insurance companies are cancelling our coverage! You know, just in case it does do any damage.
I saw a thing on 20/20 or primetime about (state Farm or Allstate) losing claims and getting adjusters to change claims with bribes and Extortion. and genrally just backing out of their responsibilty. No offense, but all the news is focused on the plane crash( what is it day 3-4) John Karr(week 2 now) and other "old news" Don't these reporters pay insurance? WTF? How come there are not huge three week long stories about that?
I hope we get a cat 1-2 far enough off the coast to avoid home damage and close enough to get some swells. peace

We are also paying for these high rollers to live on the beach.
Hey, you want to live on a barrier island that is 3 feet above sea-level you should have to insure yourself.
We are rebuilding some of these houses up in the panhandle the third time now.

sorry to hijack this thread- I agree with you both-BUT still no reason to rip off ALL of the insured people. its fine they can take my money but when my house is blown away by a hurricane they say "uh sorry too bad." thats bull! why have it in the first place. oh yeah its mandatory! if you have a mortgage. If you knew that if a hurricane wiped out your place and the inscurance co. was going to screw you, would you still want to pay for coverage you weren't gonna get? It like abig scam between the ins co and mortgage co's and nobody is giving it coverage!!!! aaarrggghhhh! Its all corrupt! Who is looking out for us?

There were some waves out there but nothing great. I did have the pleasure of watching a blaster tow in two seapoos at one time (they were pulling a train).:haha:
I was also able to test out my new dual cooling intake, I was a little nervous because I committed heresy by not doing the standard drill and tap method. Instead I chose the forbidden fruit which is taking a hacksaw and cutting off the stock bilge pump cone inside the jet pump which changed the ventury to a pressurized hole....thus intake. Yes, it did work.
BTW, it will be me plus one at Sebastian.

alright guys, I'm heading out friday night around 6:00 out of NPR. I can't get google maps to spit the map out right so look at this map but take I-4 to US 98 (south) to SR60 (east) the directions are good from there. the ride spot is at the state park on the south side of the inlet

Yeah Tim,
I am having a hard time getting Google to spit out the same results (which worked great).
I try and avoid 60 close to tampa. Gets crazy busy. What I do know is this:
1-4 out of tampa.
570 (tollroad) exit 27 south.
98 south (exit 10).
pick up 60 in Bartow.
I will post more complete directions once I beat the machine.

Me and the guy (i think his name is steve, the guy with the Hooters trailer, and the hooters super stock boat, square nose SJ, and waveblaster pissed some stoyer friends off by wakeing in the no wake area next to the boat ramp... Alright fellas.... Who is game to come out and hang for the day out at Dunedin Causeway ..... I know that most of you guys just came backs from Sebbys and all...
This will be my first day back on the water/Blaster since my lil' incident last month with the broken ribs (St. Aug. Beach Ride). So we are amped to get back on the water, and now we have to elude the horrible Red Tide we have at our local ride spot here in Bradenton.
My buddy Brian will be bringing his Blaster that he just put back together tonight and his GP800 (I sold him) and his wife(I didn't sell him), and my wife also on her GP1200.
So lets make a complete day of riding and possible fire up the B-B-Q grill and throw down some grub. And maybe we will have some surf or at least some nice sized boats passing by for the use of their wake.
I just wanna ride, damn it!!!!!!
Lets get-er-done!!!! :arms:

I can't make it but the gulf is supposed to get a swell tomorrow.
SE wind is on it this morning around 15 kts. There is some skim coming in from the SW. The wind is forecast to turn S/SW later today around 15 kts. There is a chance of a small wave before sundown. Thursday we should have some small surf on tap with storms moving through and west wind around 10 kts. (*East coast could have near epic conditions with offshore wind Thursday.) Maybe these Atlantic fish storms will keep dragging down some early fronts?

If I were you guys I would head over to the island just south of the Bellair Causeway. Its very close and has a nice sandy beach to pull up on with a great area outside of the channel aways from cops to mess around in. You can see when the yachts come by so you can head over to the channel and hit wakes when ever you want.
Thats one of my favorite places to ride.

Here is a google earth shot of the island and boat ramp. The island I was talking about is at the bottom of the picture.
When I'm in town I usually take the boat and ski's there and spend the day out there. It's usually pretty quiet there. Reed (Wahoo_1) and I rode their Labor Day weekend and had a great time. He'll vouch for the spot. It's definitely not like a Sheppards with a ton of freakin couches.

Thats cool. If I was down there I could hook you up with a bag from West Marine for really cheap. I've been working there as a summer job for 6 years now.
The only thing bad about actually riding at the boat ramp is that it gets pretty crazy on the weekend and the coast guard/marine patrol likes to hang out right there.
I'm game for a West Coast freeride any time. Waves are far more unpredictable for us, but I wouldn't mind setting up a big ride at the island one weekend that I'm in town.
I've got tons of stuff like tents, tables, grills, chairs, etc that I set up on that island and have thrown a couple good island gigs.
I really hope we start getting some waves though. If we get some waves on a weekend I'll be sure to make the drive down. If not I've got a trip home planned towards the end of October so maybe we could get something going then.
You guys have fun on Saturday. I'll be at one of these damn lakes in alabama tomorrow.

Sounds good, I'm up at school in Alabama right now, but I make frequent trips home to my parents house. They live at the end of 102ave on the intercoastal. I usually just ride in the narrows if I'm going out for a quick ride, but now that Lake Seminole is open I'll start heading there.

Tom , glad to hear your ski is alive! I had no doubts! I was seriously racing against the sun yesterday putting that starter in and exhaust.. I was right in the middle of it with greasy hands so sorry i was so short.
Now we gotta find some bottom ends parts to start adding to your ski man!
I will probably be able to ride Monday right after 12:30 or noon. Give me a call, I couldnt save your number. PM it to me. My screen is broke on my cell phone.
MONDAY MONDAY MONDAY!

Anyone up for riding on the backside of clearwater beach on monday afternoon? there is a boat ramp 400 yards away from my apartment with free parking. and i have 2 dock pole mounted swing around electric lifts.. and we can sit extra ski's right on the dock. (not a cheap dock). Tom and I are gonna ride from my house and probably ride between clearwater beach and island estates and probably make a stop at Carlouel Yacht Club because they have a huge floating dock that you can wake and do subs and whatever. I have a Gazebo at my place so if ya wanna bring some beer thats fine and dandy. PM me or shoot a message on this page. my number is 727-480-5132
