Hey there Florida peeps - anyone planning on hitting the water in the Daytona area (or the inlets) the weekend of April 28/29? (Two weeks from now.) I have a conference in Orlando on the Monday, so I figured I'd drive down instead of flying so that I can bring my ski and play in the surf for a day or two.

Let me know, and we'll make a plan for hooking up closer to the time.

I plan on getting a brand new ski not used at this point. My neighbor has a nice big 3 seat Honda Aquatrax for cruising. Maybe next fall I will have saved enough for a sit down.
I would really like to learn to loop and roll. As you can see on my avatar I kitesurf often (went out twice today). I can do both true front and true back flips while kitesurfing. I'm tired of waiting for wind!

Hey guys- can someone tell me if there is a spot on the beach in the St. Augustine area where you are allowed to launch jetskis? I am going there in 2 weeks, and would like to find either a beach launch site of a ramp launch that has close access from the intercoastal to the Atlantic. Can't be too far away due to gas constraints...anyone?

Are there any groups that surf ride somewhere between, say, Miami and Jupiter?
I'm looking for some people to ride waves with that know the area, where to launch, where the po po don't bother you, etc etc.
Just looking for a good place and good people to ride with where there is no hassle. I'd like to ride once or twice a week, every week. I have 2 surf Blasters and 2 surf FX-1's. (plus some other semi-couches).

Try Rotaxgrenade (Dre) at Port St. Lucie (south of Sebby), wonderful guy, great rider, will flip you off while inverted though, fyi. :present:

I just read the news on Loui, and was made sad for it, cried a bit. Read Madam catz pm's and started to laugh. Reread this OLD thread…it’s sooo funny to me! And nothing has changed, lol…everyone fussing/poking/antagonizing each other to get a group out to ride some surf (AND some deletions I notice, ha ha Saki…proof I have to always defend myself by being loud/mean sounding).

I DO hope some people in this thread can make it out somewhere today, for it looks like it could be nice in spots, and the weekend appears to be less so unfortunately.

there is a small park with boat ramp , right off A1A in Boynton Beach 15 miles south of you. You launch, cross the inter coastal, go under a bridge and you're in the ocean. Nice crystal clear water, you can actually see the bottom, who needs a murky lake!

up there you have lake osbourne (john prince park) and lake ida (lake ida park). however, im thoroughly convinced that the water is bacteria-filled since lake osbourne is right next to a water treatment plant and both lakes are connected. ride at your own risk. :scared:
Lake Osborne and Lake Ida are both high in fecal coliform bacteria (the nasty, bad ones) and there used be signs posted near the boat ramp at Lake Ida park saying the water was unfit for swimming and not to eat any fish caught from the lake. There are many aging septic tanks and old, broken and cracked sewage lines in that area of Palm Beach County that surround the lakes and canals that connect them. The leaking sewage ultimately seeps into all the local waterways. I would avoid those waters at all costs.

went out Hillsboro Inlet today at 2 oclock, waves were EPIC! Chest high and overhead for a while when the wind picked up! Lots of Kiteboarders in the area, and also a few windsurfers so it took a lot of careful maneuvering and keeping an eye out for all the cross traffic. I rode for about 2 hours, till my arms felt like wet noodles. I was surprised to find no other PWC out there at all, not even a coucher or two. What a great day, had lots of fun and had no mechanical issues or LEO harassment. :bigok:

After an ocean outing, drive to a local freshwater boatramp, back the trailer in and start the ski's and let them idle for a few minutes. Flushes the engines and pumps and rinses all the salt off of everything including the trailer, all at once. I usually do this to mine even though I have flush kits installed.

really, I agree with you. I rarely ride solo, but the clown who was supposed to be going with me, sold out at the last possible minute... :twak:

Well, the surf report said the waves were head-high and the weather was great, so I was powerless to stop myself from going. I definitely rode more conservatively though, knowing there was nobody to lend a hand if I needed one.

I’m still a dead duck out of water, yet I may see if Willie wishes to terrify me in his boat... since it looks like he could get it through the inlet with little problems on Saturday (:poke:you must wanna ride pretty badly finally, lol). Might do me well to get out; I'll let ya know!

Good to know. Also, there should be quite a few people in Sebby within a few weeks, so hopefully you can ride that weekend.
