thats right, i statred out with a 30.00 650sx. built the motor, little port work, and the usual mods, ride plate scoop grate aluminum pole, bars, quick turn. then i started to go crazy, swapped out some motor work for the paint job you see and custom fit my own turf to it.(could'nt stand the tray pads). hated the old school westcoast pipe and got my hands on a 750sx factory B pipe. custom fit of course. sorry i don't have any pics before but imagine the stock red faded to pink with yellow! FUGLY!!!!! ran a true 48 on the radar gun with pump gas, but it had the best power band!! just sold it for 1500.00 so i could keep my other toys.. she'll be missed but never forgotten!

How well did those side-lifter wedges work out as footholds? What did you use to attach them to the sides? Did you have to cut the turf away to glue them down, or does it glue to turf?

Thanks,

Aaron

Pardon my ignorance, but what the F is that big a$$ fitting on the side for ??

Did you rip out a bilge pump out of an oil tanker ??

the turf was the smooth kind so i attached the wedges directly to he turf, the worked quite well. kinda ugly but the function far out weighed the form. i don't like the foot holds because of my f'ked up ankles..

Great! I have smooth foam on the sides of my SJ so I think I'll try it. What did you use for glue?

i ordered the side lifter wedges from hydro turf. they come peel and stick, however i reccomend you clean the area with acetone first. also you may want to sand and form them so they look nicer and don't get in the way so much when you move your feet around the tray, also so they won't pop off. http://hydroturf.com/products.php?cat=PWC%20Accessories&man=Hydro-Turf&page=2&feat=

I just bought a project 650SX yesterday (too bad it was more than $30). Your old ski is pretty inspirational. when you hydro-turfed the sides and top of the tray did you remove the original vinyl pads or did you glue the turf to them?

Thanks,

Aaron

So how hard was it to get the 75o pipe to fit? I am wanting to do a 750 engine swap into my X2 and was wanting to use a 750 Mod pipe as you did or a dry chamber SXi Prop pipe.
