Play in the UMI steering, is this common?? i just bought a brand new UMI steering which uses the old steering throw arm from the origional setup, anyway there is about 1 mm play or so in the steering from the throw arm not seating 100% on the shaft...
Now i have 2 older UMI setups here both with alloy quick steer type extentions, and they both have the same play, so i tapped an m6 bolt in it to eliminate the play... But cannont do that with the new one... what have others done?
Have others just put-up with the play in the new UMI's??

This is one of the reasons I sold mine, that and the fact that when I flipped it over and looked at the bearings they said made in CHINA and they were not stainless steel.:dunno:

yeh WTF... i wonder why people who have bought these have not mentioned it..... i think the older design is prob better ( i have the pre baring type aswell as the first one that had bearings) anyway i guess a bit of teflon tape might help, but for something so expencive im not very happy with it..
