I built a s/s 90 deg. elbow and I will tell you it is an awesome fit, I am not the first one to do it either. Not knocking this new MadPower pipe at all but yes the Fpp headpipe and blaster limited rock's also.

I have had a factory pipe for a 750 on my x2 and now I am running the factory b pipe and I really did not notice any difference. The only reason why I changed pipes is because the 750 pipe took up so much room under the hood. What is the madpower website?

Just search it. There are a ton of X2's running FP's. I used a westcoast and another type of manifold both, with both the kawasaki and the yamaha headpipes. You can run a blaster limited chamber, or either the superjet mod or limited chamber, mod fitting the best of all three. You can also run a blaster mod chamber with a little denting.

I am getting this chamber (not the whole pipe setup) from Motoine Racing in Japan. It is made for the SXR and new X2. They also have a titanium version, and Bun makes a carbon version too. The titanium one weighs a mere 800g. RPMs are comparative to the FP dry pipe. Any of those Japanese products you can purchase through Ardath, Inc in California. I have a few items in transit right now.
For all you 750X2 guys, this is the chamber for you!

I believe that headpipe/chamber setup in that picture is for a freestyle application, its chamber is even shorter than the one I got which is in the smaller picture under the one you copied. It looks like that is a sprayer nozzle setup to me. My wetpipe sprayers I drill the headpipe about 1" above where it meets the manifold, so you arent in the water jacket:

because they're smaller. im a big dude, i need a big engine!

their motors are bigger than most of ours, yet they run a shorter pipe wich in theroy is more mid to top. i love my blaster limited and would be hard pressed to part with it.

That chamber outlet is biggggg!
X2Pilot
12-18-2009, 08:56 AM
The outlet looks big, but the outer tube you see is a sleeve to match the waterbox inlet, the actual chamber outlet inside the sleeve is smaller. Outer sleeve is 58.5mm ID the outlet is 48mm ID
Gassem I may try that sometime but for now I need to do some testing and see if its even worth it. I may get it on the water this weekend.

The diameter is pretty fat, but could me squeezed if a carbon version were made so it would clear in a vintage X2 hull if needed.

the only thing i don't like about the jap bottom mod is that you have to foam it in place and it wraps over the outer edge of the boat. i have a set of toms here that are going on to kamikaze's new boat and they are top notch. they come pre-foamed and molded to fit the stock hull as well as fit inside of the chines for a flush fit.
he will also be getting toms front X2 sponsons that i have r&d'd my self after having ridden the t-2/crabbies before that. they are by far the best x2 specific sponson.
i can't wait to try kantz's new ride when i am finished w/ it.

George glad you got the parts porno mags! I bet you are one worn out SOB about now LOL I just posted at PWCT asking if you got em!
What did Hiro charge you for the longer steering neck? I think I need one, tho I was out railing (two laps at a time http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v30/JonnyChrist/Emoticons/crazy.gif) on the mod boat today and being real low helps me carry corner speed. I have thought about throwing the stock steering on that SE hood and seeing how that works.
My whole intention of going out today was to test the MR chamber, but it wasnt to be, at least not the way I wanted it. I got it on the water and chased buoys with it, just getting a feel for the tuning, and my steering cable broke! I maybe got 6-7 laps at best...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v30/JonnyChrist/Emoticons/Angry_847.gif
So back on the trailer it went.
A couple observations on my short ride is that it had really good mid range pull, but chasing buoys it wasnt coming out of the hole very well. Of course I wasnt able to do any high speed runs to check rpms, but it would have been a good day, it was basically flat with some light wind rippling.
I was however very cold http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v30/JonnyChrist/Emoticons/cold.gif
I started with the exact jetting that I was using with the FPP SXR chamber. I am gonna try some different low speed jets and some pop off settings and see if that changes the low end. Scottie said it could be the impeller pitch.
I may also try this chamber on the mod boat because it has water injection, and being such a short pipe, maybe thats what it will need to slow the wave down enough to get the bottom end to come alive?
Thoughts anyone?

Hey Jon, Hiro has to get back to me about my 2nd order, that is the 1 with the freestyle neck on it, when he does i will let you know how much it is, do you still want to swap hoods?? and is the carbon hood the same as the stock hood, as far as handlebar mount height... let me know thanks...........
X2Pilot
12-30-2009, 11:51 PM
George, yes definitely want to swap hoods. I almost talked myself out of it then I snapped back to reality that I was never going to race Mod again and I want another Spec boat. If you want to do it soon we can do the shipping route. I measured and best that I can tell the SE hood, where the rearward bolts attach the steering to the hood, is about 1 inch or less lower than the stock hood.

02-01-2010, 07:43 PM
No not dialed in, matter of fact I spent 6 hours yesterday trying a couple dozen setups, differnt pop offs, low speed combos, water on, water off, couldnt get it to come out of the hole or transition low to high speed. I was extremely frustrated by the end of the day, not to mention cold. One thing I discovered is, if I was going along, throttle pinned it would just dog, maybe 3000 rpm, and if I took it out of the water by jumping the ski and letting the pump free spin momentarily, it would wake up and take off like a rocket, arm wrenching mid range and GREAT top end, but no bottom end, it was just dog city. My last attempt will be with a lower pitch impeller like a 9/17 to see if it helps by keeping the rpms up....right now I am running a 13.5/18
I have a request into the guy that I bought the pipe from to see if he can contact Motoine Racing and give me some tuning specs....I am thinking it may require water injection to work. That will not help me as the class I race does not allow water injection....Will keep you informed! Wish me luck.

Ya man good luck!! Sound like fun! I would take being cold right now to get out on the water, everything here is ice!
X2Pilot
02-15-2010, 12:51 AM
Wooo Hooo! Got it finally. She runs real good, got a slight stumble on hard right turns but accelleration is real good and mid range pull is great, definitely better than the FPP chamber and I think theres more to be squeezed out of the top end. With a little more tuning it will be 100%, but am very happy with it right now. The SXR racers are going to like this chamber too!
EDIT: even tho this chamber came with the stinger tube I was told by the supplier that it is not for injecting water.....he didnt say what it was for but I closed the jetworks valve so that it is only putting water in at the very highest rpm because I am scared to run it completely dry. I have wrapped the waterbox in hydroturf to help with overheating and foam meltdown but I think that even with that, if I go completely dry it will melt even the HT.

I can copy it no problem but Is it making more power than the factory wet pipe?
X2Pilot
04-01-2010, 11:43 PM
Yes I believe it is making more power just by the feel of it, and I will have rpm proof soon. (also I believe it will be ALOT easier to duplicate this vs the FPP based on shape) However the power is all up top it doesnt have the brute low grunt of the FPP, tho its no slouch for some giddyup and go. I was side by side with a dry piped limited drag racing last week so it can generate some good rpms. I just got the new tach installed so will have some rpm numbers after this weekend. Also, after running it last weekend I pulled the plugs and they are black as sin and very wet so I am going to step down a jet size and run it again, I am sure with it that fat theres more we can get out of her!
I think I counted 8 pieces that make up the entire chamber, should be pretty easy to fabricate. We can do the copy at the end of the season when I tear the ski down
