What is the differnce other then the attached shoe on teh kawi 650 pumps compared to the 750 pumps? I see some people replace the 650 with a 750. When checking, they are both 140mm pumps.
Whats the deal?

If I'm not mistaken, the impeller is set back further in the 750 pumps, and I think the hub diameter might be smaller. Maybe someone can verify that...

No need to switch to a 750 pump for the setback, just order a swirl for a 650 (custom) and a few mods to the pump hub and bearing spacer get you right to the back of the wear ring. It hooks up awsome.

the best way to get the set-back effect is with the combination of a 650 prop and a 750 pump.
the inside hub of the 650 prop is deeper than the 750 prop, so when you try and install a 650 prop into a 750 pump the props' trailing edge rubs the stator vanes and needs to be shimmed away from the leading edge of the vanes. shim it away from the vanes with thin stainless thrust washers until it barely clears the vanes for the killer hookup.
