so i have an 89 x2 with the direct steer. i went and decided to grind down the stops on the steering arm on the bottom of the steering column. i wanted more throw when i turned. does anyone have a steering arm for direct steer laying around? how difficult is it to make an new arm? i know some of you have mentioned it before but i havent seen any write ups or pics. thanks

I just (today) ground the arm on my X2 where it contacts the stops. Didn't do the stops themselves. It didn't take much, a mm or Two. This gave me about 1/2-3/4 inch more throw. We'll see if it makes a differnece in the next few days, next time I have it out.

that is exactly what i did. but i still have to adjust it to make the handle bars straight. as of right now the bars are a little to the left while going straight. but the turning radius is alot better! i like it alot. guess ill just have to adjust the steering from under the ski and hope i can fix the bars to be straight while going straight when riding the ski.
