so my friend and i just got her x2 (1991/1992??) running after three years off not. changed the plugs and with a little help from some starting fluid, fired right up. :cheer2: i noticed that she still has the oil pump injection hooked up but her uncle told her to still pre mix the gas....too much oil or fine? and how do i go about adding a block off plate and running just premix? the x2 that i own already had the block off plate added so i dont know how to go about it. thanks.

it's really simple. pull off the oil pump from the flywheel cover & replace it with one of these plates http://www.atlanticjetsports.com/engine_oil_block_off.htm
Then premix the gas at around 40:1. I think Kawasaki says 50:1, but I run 40:1 in my 750 with no problems. A little more oil is good insurance.

Conquistador: U run a little more oil in your gas then called for. Have you pulled the head after running like this for a while? Is the head and/or cylinder covered in deposits?
j/w. I do the same. Better too much then too little.

I've had no issues with it. I run BR7ES plugs. They run a little hotter than 8s & do the job. I can't pull the head b/c I have an SBT motor, but I like knowing that I am covered by a warranty. In fact, I still have another year on it & it doesn't run out until late June of 2010.
nice avatar btw haha
