Not sure if its lame or not to post the same question here as well as the other place, if so :frown: :lightning: but I'm in need of some advise. Here's the deal:

I rebuilt my 650sx about 20hrs ago and it runs great. But, I just noticed the rear crank seal is sticking out about 1/4" on one side. I pushed it back in, but now I'm worried, if i have a leak and why it came out. If I recall it's a 2 piece deal, did I put it in wrong or what? Thoughts? Also, I left the sheild/cover off the goes over the couplers, any chance that elps to hold the seals in place?
tnks

:banghead:
Ok WTF? Both the front and rear pair of seals were working there way out? The were installed with the spring sides toward each other marine grease between and automotive hi-temp sealant around.

I dont know if you have already addressed your issue, but you can pull the engine out and split the case halves whithout dissasembling the top end. Clean and reset the seals, then bolt the case halves back together. Probably not the best fix, but definitely a quick fix. Like if you are on the road and in a bind.

good luck

AS PATHETIC AS IT IS....

I had one pop out right after I put my motor back together... I was not up for ripping ******** apart, so I put 5200 all around the f'ing thing and rode it for two years... don't do that
