Thanks man ,I was having some issues with the hood not being strong enough around the steering mount area so I had to baby it a bit all weekend, riding wasn't the problem but it puts a lot of stress on the hood while boarding it.I laid up 4 more layers of heavy carbon fiber and two layers of glass on it this morning and I am making a bigger aluminum support plate to go under it,that should fix the problem.

Nice! Top notch man, I really like how that turned out. 650 or 750?
Also, is that a cut up stock hood, or a one off WFO custom? The final product is too cool. I was skeptical about it, just because I've never seen a really cool looking 650. That thing is sweet looking. Great idea. I'd love to try it out sometime. Maybe I can get some work down in Alabama again this summer.

I got that hood from Flat Brap,I have no idea who made it,it is an old fiberglass race hood, the box it came in weighed more than the hood,I cut off the scoops, foamed the hood tunnells in and glassed it all up and laid in a bunch of carbon fiber to stiffen it up around the steering area.

It works like a charm. I used the exact gas can down in PCB last summer to clear Chic's TNT chamber I ran with a 701 in my X2. I said I was going to do it again just to freak people out, but I ended up getting the cart tank.

Yeah red flag warnings are fine if you an individual and know WTF you are doing in the surf, now putting on a freeride in the surf when there are red flag warnings with peeps that may or may not know surf so well would be a pretty damned stupid idea if you ask me.:ugh2:

That is sad! Have they found the other person, and how did that happen?

I’m very sorry the ride didn’t go as well as intended; it did indeed sound as if a tremendous amount of work went into it. I did wish to come myself, but decided against the drive for needing to drive to Atlanta soon. I’m still disappointed I missed the meet and chance to meet people I have been wanting to meet for such a long time. I do hope to make the next meet planned there.

Freerides should be free. Instead of registration fees, we have donations and raffles.

Don't be mistaken. Justin did a great job and we had loads of fun. The water was flat, the no-wake zone was ludicrous, but we were surrounded by the best people imaginable. We had a wonderful ride. We sank skis and laughed. We wrenched on skis and got sunburned. We shared a wonderful weekend in Florida and hugged when it was over, wishing we all could have spent the week there.

Thank you Justin.

This is the way I see it,there are different kinds of freerides for different kinds of people,we have the laid back freerides like Smith Lake and hopefully Lake Martin and Gasden where you show up and ride ,run what you brung,no raffles,no charities,no BS and then we have more organized events like Daytona and Navarre beach where basically you have to bring something to the table to even be allowed to put on an event there.Justin did a good job of that I think.I personally like the more low key rides but I want the option of going to a bigger more organized event also if I so wish to.I guess it all boils down to get in where you fit in .I would think that it should go without saying that you can't have your cake and eat it too though.Rant over post up some pics,if any mod feels this post inappropriate move it,remove it or delete it,no hard feelings.

madscientist

the restaraunt had nothing to do w/ the registration ( donation) and if you weighed the fact that we were going to feed 2 people for every 35.00 donation made as well as free red bull and uber cheap drink specials it would have been cheaper to donate. i am selling the left over shirts to break even.

the surf was far from great. yes it was up and i would have rode it, but it was not conditions that i wanted to be rescuing people in!!!!

heavy south east winds and virtually no wave period beyond 2-3 sec.

head to overhead and a westerly riptide.

nobody was oblivious to the donation and i made sevral rounds to corral everyone to the spot to do so.

I DO APPRECIATE THE ATTENDANCE AND HAD A GREAT TIME WITH ALL WHO PARTICIPATED.

NO ONE THAT CAME BY IVITATION FROM THE BOARDS DID SO NOT KNOWING THIS WAS A FUND RAISER FOR A GREAT CAUSE.
