You may have corrosion on the contacts in the start/stop switch. You can take it apart and disassemble the switches, clean the contacts up, check for water leaks, then put it back together.

If its fuel related, the internal filter is probably clogged in the carb.

Sounds like the same problem I had. Disconnect the leads to the started and jump them with a pair of insulated pliers. If the ski fires up, you need new contacts in the start stop switch. I found a cheap/broken switch on the classifieds here and replaced my green button contact with the barely used contacts out of the red switch on the busted switch. Fires right up now!

Fuel related issue would still allow the ski to run at low revs. If it has shut off completely then you should look into repairing handle bar switch or check ground strap and make sure it's not too corroded. If out on the water and it happens to die mysteriously, disconnect the black and whit line from the handle bar switch, which will eliminate the kill signal from handlebar. Just be sure to bump your idle speed down to insure boat will shut off when you slow down.

Give it a shot, but filters even clogged should work at idle unless horrific.

this is the same problem i had with my ski. somewhere along the line there is either a short, or corroted contacts. this happend to my 750. everytime i lifted the handlepoll it would shut off........get a complete new switch with wiring and youwill be good to go.

If you get this fancy product that has been around for ever. Di-electric grease. its just like the stuff you put on you battery terminals. that you get in small packets from AutoZone or Advance. Try rebuilding and glob this di-electric grease all inside it!!!
