Quads !

Quads are really not legal on the beach.. Neither are we so, what the hell ! We had no problems last year. so why not. the only thing the police dont like is people with not permited trucks on the beach !
I found that out from the clinics this year... oops ! :tomato:

I am going to have one and a tote !

I am going to ask for about 4-5 more.

i could bring my raptor out. I have some paddle tires i can throw on. might have to figure out how to get a hitch on for the tote though. actually my cousin has one im sure he would be willing to bring if he comes wih me.

Long story short. (cops) Dont like the vehicles trucking back and forth... found that out at a clinic. so what we did last year was good. I will get a beach buggy pass for my truck... and then use the quad like last year. When the cops pulled up last year.. I said I have a permit... and they were like.... cool ! did not even check... I ment I had a permit for the beach buggy pass. not a permit for the event.. but I dont know what they thought.. 2 quads went back and forth last year.. I would like to do the same. But like 4-5 tops 6 quads back and forth.. so it does not look like a zoo ! That should work.... remember how soft that sand is in Sleaside ? FYI to all- Sand is super soft, big HP 4x4 quad is best !

I can have both my quad and tote there, however no rev. on the bike and it is almost impossible to go under 20 with it. but if you need either item or both I'll get them there esp. since i only have to haul it what 10 miles tops vs. the 600-700 +++miles some of you guys would have to hual yours.

That is a good point, prob gonna have to have a "shutle" like if someone has a van or something to run people to and from thier cars, because your right there is not alot of parking at the beach.

Like Dave "jetboy1004" said, there is a hug lot, big enough for like 200 buses. so go look at google earth... or something.. there is more than enough room... No shuttles, no making stuff more complicated.. The quads are fine. and I am sick of people making this ride harder and harder all the time... Dont worry about stuff that is not for you too worry about... I am not trying to be an arse, just sick of stuff getting complicated for no reason.. its like it happens with everything on the rager... I will be bringing my tote with it's 1 7/8 hitch.

My dad has a 2wd kawasaki mule with the little cab thing on it and a little dump bed. It is the smallest one they make. It has wolly booger back tires on it but I have never tried it in that type of sand. I think it would be as capable at towing on level ground as any 2wd sport quad like Powder's. The dump bed would be a good place to keep gas cans rather than on the beach. If it is something you think would be useful I will look into how I might get it there.

I'll bring mine. It's not the little black one I was riding at wildwood. That's my daughters. Mine's a utility quad. Not 4wd, but big tires. It'll work for haulin skiis. 2" Ball on it for someones tote.

I am dropping my tote off at IHOP's house this week for you Dave, He'll bring it to the beach. I cleaned it all up last night so it's PURDY and stuff.

I replaced the bed on the mule with bunks and made a hitch for it. If it is carrying a machine on the back it should have plenty of traction. That quad we used the weekend I was there didn't work very hard to drag the tote and a bunch of us sitting on it around. I am just going to put it on the snowmobile trailer with my X2 and the tote.

Mine has hauled a 98 gp 1200 but that was at Daytona on very hard sand. It took 4 guys to drag it around on that stuff. It will definatley require a lot of swearing to get it in and out of the water.

i was thinking about this today... if every one rides down toward the amusement pier. pictures can be taken from the pier. but i think only if there is big surf it would be cool.

If you go near the pier... Cops will be their faster than My ADD can kick in.... We usually stay south of the board walk... or just about where the board walk ends... the pier is fishermans turf... and half the cops are fisherman... Go do that and let me know how you make out ! :frown:
