Solid State Hard drive

Anyone messed with these? I'm runnin out of space on my laptop, thinkin about upgrading to one of them.

No spinning parts - pretty cool stuff- think they make them up to 256 gig or maybe more

Yeah they sound pretty neat. Although there's some jibber jabber about write speeds being about the same if not slower than a standard 7200 RPM HD

SDD storage is the future, but the price tag is still big

The ones I have played with are way to slow. 7200 rpm western digital for sure IMO.

And by the way....solid storage fails too....even with no moving parts.

I am on about my 10th jump drive. And no clicking or grinding from read/write heads and/or bearings so you have no idea when one is about to go.
