Lets get a thread going on what pipes will fit the hull...
Im curious if anyone has put a B1 mod chamber in one.

Ive got a Coffman Lightning in mine, the mods to the hull were pretty easy and Im very happy with the performance compared to Type 4s. The RN i ride with that has a B pipe doesnt have any better bottom than my mild 61x.

So what others pipes have people fit in with minor mods?
Ive seen Speedwerx in a FX but I think thats it.
Type 4?
What B pipe chambers and how to modify?

!Note: I understand there are several threads on specific pipes, but I think it would be very beneficial for those on a budget to have this consolidated into one. Plus hopefully we get everyone to come out of the woodwork and show what they have done.

Type 4 fits, but the hood liner has to go.

Im curious about your Speedwerx tricky...
Im guessing the hood lip needs cutback, it should clear the hood liner. Gas tank?

both fit and the lip does not have to be cut. The pipe will need a good bend to clear tho.

Bend? In the waterjacket at the hood lip area?

What would the best pipe for flatwater bottom end be? The B-pipe i'm guessing?

that speedwerx pipe looks like the kind for a fx1 !!!
that fx1 must have some serious top-end with that speedwerx pipe on it ???
even a re-weld on the waterline fitting too !!!

good stuff - pic's of the highend mod'd stuff.

Nice! I was hoping Id get some interest in this.
Now does anyone know if a B1 mod chamber would work?
Im almost positive it would fit but without one here, no way to tell.

When I was looking for a B-pipe with an FX1 chamber, many peeps told me the mod chamber would work, just may need a little "adjustment" or run a bit of hydroturf between the gas tank and the pipe.

I elected to get the FX1 chamber and it fits very well, of course, and has great bottom end power.

My question is this, what reasonable priced pipes fit an fx1? Im talking used $200-350 pricerange like protec or coffmans? I have a coffman sizzler in my sn thats been opened up for the 701, I just wonder if one of these will fit? I know, "buy a b pipe" but I can't justify $600+ on a pipe.

:tapedshut::biggrin:

I have a B mod in mine(unmodified), and planning on trying to cram a SJ ltd. chamber in there...

with a bit of gas tank massaging I think the ltd will fit and will make a noticeable difference!

Shall I add that with a Superjet tank installed, limited chamber fits.
(it also gave me more room on my Lightning)

Anyone use the protec rev pipe? The price is right for a new pipe but hows it compare to others? Would it be better to find a factory pipe?
Also, which pipe is easiest to tune/maintain??

Heres the protec i saw (http://www.ocperformancemotorsports.com/yamaha-fx1-exhaust-system.html)

I just installed a riva freeride dry type pipe in my FX 1 with a little modification to the hood. I had to heat the hood and bend it about 1 1/2 inches to make the pipe fit. Also I had to take the motor mount screws out to pull the motor forward in order for the pipe to be connected to the exhast manifold. It was a pain but it can be done so add that one to the list.

now the ski hits so hard your motor just hits the rev limiter because your pump cant keep up.

I realize this is a shot in the dark due to how old your post is, gut do you own this pipe? If so do you have any interest in selling?

Used Pro-Tec MACH-1 Exhaust System 701 yamaha superjet

MACH I Exhaust Systems
MACH I exhaust system features include a newly developed “Balanced Flow” exhaust manifold with ten mounts for added mounting strength and security. Also included is our new wide range “Power Flow Headpipe”. This headpipe features adjustable misting which allows you to maximize torque or top speed performance. This exhaust system hits hard at low RPM and keeps pulling through the entire power band to create dramatic top end speed.
The MACH-1 Exhaust Systems Include: Pro-Tec Balanced Flow exhaust manifold, Pro-Tec Power Flow headpipe, Pro-Tec MACH-1 exhaust chamber, necessary hardware and easy to follow instructions.

When I bought this new I paid $699.95 from Pro-tec, the reason I'm sellingmy pipe is becuse I sold my superjet and selling pipe separate
this pipe is awsome for low end power and punch- had it on my freeestyle superjet, very close to a factory pipe tnt pipe!!! much better low and mid-range than a b-pipe!!!

This is from the ebay add. Take it all with a grain of salt. I know its not a mach 1 because it does not adjustable misting. But it bolted on with out any mods or cutting of any thing. It was a little tight between the pipe and tank. I put a pice of foam between the two to keep it from rubbing a hole in the tank. Its doing good so far. I would have put the pipe on along time ago if I knew the differnce that it made. It does suck the fuel now. If your in Hot Springs anytime stop by a take it for a spin.

I installed a coffman sizzler in my ski. Fit perfectly and performs awesome. It was brand new for around 400 to the door. Plus everyone says they are zero maintenance pipes, so I shall see
