very sweet cam angle,Ive always wanted to see that type mount used from the rear so you see the wave coming.post up a pic of your mount setup.
Are all of you using the Gopro,im looking at the new atk5000 org sci cam,it comes with a remote and uses a one beep record 2 beep stop system to cut down on the amount of footage ya have to weed through to cut a edit.Im not sure how well it works though

The vids remind me of my years in Hawaii, just me and my buddy from Guam riding the break at Hickam AFB with not a surfer in site and clean waves too---just had to watch the reef under them in a couple of spots.

I need a roadtrip...

wow, chris, great vid. great editing.

The new angle was shot with the brand new GOPRO wide angle. it comes with mounts for motorsports and that you just stick on and it holds pretty well. you saw some of the big stabs it was able to handle. I wasn't really needing to baby it. At the end I was trying to rip it off but it stayed on . .

Nice Vid!!! Great camera back towards the rider angle!!!! Surf stance is the best for carving/re-entries, but learning both stances for tricks off the waves will only make you a better/well rounded rider.

Sorry if this has been asked before (wasn't able to find it using search) - can you tell me where exactly that is, where do you guys put your skis in the water, etc... I'm down around Mission Bay and I'd love to take my skis in the surf.

Oops! Just found some old posts with the info (assuming this is same spot).

As always, great job on the vid(s) guys. I do have a question for you though, who is the band and what track is that in the first part of the video? It has been stuck in my head for the last week now.

do you have a pic of how it is mounted on the helmet?

id like to see where the best place to mount it on the helmet is, and what you used to mount the cam.

i need to get a new cam since my oregon sci is at the bottom of the ocean.
my mounting system was sub par.

you mount the wrist camera right around the chin of your helmet, it works great thats how i use mine now too.

Here's how I mount mine. Not a single problem yet, and I've bailed pretty hard right on my face (multiple times).

do you have a pic of how it was mounted on the side of the sxr? if not...like, about where was it placed? and was it so the wide angle was vertical or horizontal?

Woody
12-17-2008, 08:24 PM
here is a print screen from the vid of the sxr...i couldn't see where the actual camera was mounted. i watched the whole video like 10x to try to spot it on there. can someone just put the picture in paint and circle where the camera was?

i think it is unbelievable footage from this angle and i would like to experiment myself with it. :woot:

you got it right on. thats where i put the mount. you have to have it that close since farther away and the pole starts to get into the frame too much.

Woody
12-17-2008, 11:25 PM
thanks matt. did you mount it on the top part of the hood or the side downsloping part? and was the camera position horizontal or vertical?

thanks matt. did you mount it on the top part of the hood or the side downsloping part? and was the camera position horizontal or vertical?

top flatter part as far to the back of the ski i could before the hood starts to slope down. since the cam has a 170 degree angle lens it doesn't really matter the angle since it gets everything from where its mounted on back.
