hit bottom so hard that the motor bent the kenney keepers and went flying forward.... when it sprang back into place the force blew the couplers to pieces... it was the hardest I have ever hit bottom

Damn dude. I am buying kenney keepers specifically because of those carnage pics. I didn't realize you had them  Time to invent some Slutty Shacklers.

Yeah, no kidding... I already have my KK's, but damn... some slutty shacklers would do nice... I like it. :hail: :hail: :hail: You can smash your hull all to hell and the motor will never move...

Yeah, nothing big here either, but the way things happen can be so stupid sometimes.
This was the result after my feet slipped out of the bindings during a nose stab. I ended up kicking the ski square in the side of the hood as I came down...

Drag racers bolt chains from their frame to there motor so they don't break motor mounts from engine torque. Mayve you could incorporate something like that on your new ski. Keepers + chain/cable bolted from the motor to your fire wall??? You'll need to reinforce I'm sure.

Why not use solid motor mounts?
willycrumb
02-08-2006, 04:19 PM
OK the tabs keep the motorplate from too much forward movement. Did they brake or bend when your motor went far enough forward to do that to your coupler.

Why not use solid motor mounts?
Then he would need liner keepers.

I like your bottom reinforcement. It makes me feel better about the job I did on mine - I thought it was too sloppy.

Why not use solid motor mounts?
They would probably rip right out of the hull, even under normal riding conditions.
