Top loader or Open (scoop) intake on a 550

Looks like my 550 has a stock grate. I was told I should get a A/M one. so the question is...

might not be correct but I don't think that 2nd grate is a scoop grate. scoop grates are opposite of the TL as the blade comes down into the water.... ?????

i had an open grate on my 550 and it was more fun kinda, the tail would spin out and i had fun doing spins and stuff.

then i bought a toplader. was harder to spin out but railed corners nice.


it all depends what you want to do. if you find your ski is breaking up in chop then i get the tl, but if you ride on a nice glassy lake all the time an open will work.
