FX-1 Jet Dynamics Intake Problem...HELP!

I purchased this jet dynamics intake grate, along with a Pro Tec ride plate. I went to put it on today, and the rear of the grate doesn't fit up into the pump shoe. Has anyone seen this problem before? Any idea how to fix it? Is it worth the effort?

That's what I was afraid of.
You mean to tell me that everybody and their brother says "Jet Dynamics this and Jet Dyanamics that", and it fits like THIS??

If you bought the JD Plate and Grate then it would of fitted with no problem. The two are designed to work together and they assume that you are buying both and not mixing and matching.
