you tube and ubuntu

I need some help,Ive tried reading up on it,but I still cant watch any videos on here or you tube while in firefox,for you tube Im using mplayer to watch them but its not as convenient. If any one can tell me what to do in easy to follow english for a linux dummy that would be great. It all worked before I upgraded to the latest Ubuntu. I have made sure shock wave is installed.:dunno:

I had to just let firefox went,major issues viewing attached pics and youtube,I have google chrome now.

All I ever have to do on new installs is setup flash.
