JD plate.. long or short?

I have one on Blaster #1 I want to buy another for Blaster #2

Thing is, I am not sure if I have the long plate or the short plate? I want to get the same length as I have now.

Can anyone tell me the length of them so I can double check and see which one I have?

The long one CLEARLY sticks out the back. You want the LONG one for surf, short one for inland lakes. That is my understanding.

I would think the extended is longer than stock. Stock being the short one.

I will have to double check, but I think I have the long one. Guess I will have to find a short one now and sell the long one.

I've got the short plate and will trade you for the long one if it's in good shape.

The short plate I have is only about three rides old and I'm looking for the longer version to make a mold for a new fiberglass plate.

I would disagree. In the surf the last thing you want is a super long plate unless you're racing. As far as "inland lakes" run a short one if you're looking for top end and not looking to keep the nose planted on a rough bouy course and run the long one if you are looking to race.

So in the end short one for freeriding and long one for racing.
