after getting my PC up and running again it has a damaged hard drive. since I'm replacing it I want to replace my boot hard drive too. Can someone suggest a free program to help me make a copy of my boot drive on to my new hard drive?

I have Casper and Drive2Drive software programs that will work.
I'll burn a copy and bring it to the shop today.

k, made a clone of my c drive to my new hdd, swapped the cables and set the jumper to master on my new drive and unplugged my old drive and now my computer won't boot.
I thought I might get the windows recovery console to try and fix it and I can't remeber the administrator password. I could have sworn it was admin or administrator.
anyhoo, anyone have some advice on getting my new drive to boot?
I can't make another clone of the old one, the old drive kicked the bucket

For local administrator for safe mode, the password is blank by default. user: administrator pass:

IMO just back up important data and then reload XP on to new boot drive.
I only use images when I have several or several dozen identical machines.
I use this program for creating images.
