My buddy's full superstock blaster is as fast as my 6mm lamey stroker blaster. Don't think for a second a SS isn't competative anymore.

I love being the underdog, makes me not look so bad when I get my arse handed to me, and makes me look awsome if I have good luck. I hope these guys no how too keep a mean pace! They better be like Mcgrath on the water. lol

Thats the only thing that sucks about this sport, your start is 95 percent of the race. Oh well I love mid pack charging! COOOOOOMMMMMEEEEE ON!

Lee is running a full carbon blaster......

i THINK he's running a 6 mill lamey PV fully built by judge motorsports....

you don't have to worry about me as much as the mckenna brothers. i'm old and out of shape. which i have been working to make better this past week.

hopefully we will have as many or more at nationals this year. the world finals i have just about given up on. they can't figure anything out before the last minute.

but a good judge superstock is definitely good enough to place in the top 5.

but his strokers are insane. hopefully i will have mine before nationals.

i will have a spare boat for someone to ride at nationals. all you need to do is pay for the gas and any damage you cause. but if my primary boat breaks, i want my spare boat back.

that pretty much goes for any race i attend.

right now my spare is a good cheater limited. at the nationals it will be a superstock in mod hull hopefully.

saki why don't you come out an play with us. i 'll be in st. pete in 2 weeks.

i sold the lamey before i even broke it in. i am still running last years superstock, lamey is a slow sob.

I failed to mention im afrikaans... so bring it!!! ha Just a quick question? Does the strokers just add low end???? I gues what I wana know is will a well prepared 800cc blaster without a stroke get eaten by a stroker motor? Thanx

FL-cracker
06-27-2006, 01:08 PM
^^^^^^^Probaby, but who cares, dont let it get in your head and with some skill you should be all world! All they got is a little more low end like you said. I am gonna do it big with just a bigbore, I ant skerd! I can bang bars with the best of them in the dirt.

I will be bringing what I got, BET ON THAT!

Oh yea, you gotta run a stock seat probably dont you?

godocgo
06-27-2006, 01:54 PM
a stoker is not just bottom end, it is more power thru out.

but big bore ain't sheit. it is the porting that make theses motors great.

i would take a stock 61x cylinder an run circles around a 64x cylinder. why because the porting is different. it is not the size of the motor but how you build it. in NC a i was playing around with rxp. he wanted to drag, so i hit it.
i blew his doors off til we hit 60, then he krept up and passed me. but that thing is easily double the size and supercharged.

enough bs on the internet, come out an race.

scottie mac
06-27-2006, 08:04 PM
Strokers and big bores make power in a different way. A stroker will generally feel more torquey. They have more grunt. A big bore gets the revs up quicker. If you already have a nice ss set up, a nice alternative would be to go stock stroke, big bore Lamey, that way you will get the better transfer area and the ability to run valves, which help all the way thur the powerband.

Like Lee said, doesn't matter what you have, just come out and race, the more the better. I was stuck behind my brother and buddy on an HX all year, still had a good time. Got a couple of wins, couple of other top threes, still fun, no matter what.

If there is interest we will have an Amateur Sport SuperstockIf this is done what will likely happen (on a local level) is the amateures will end up racing along side all the others because of the lack of turn out in said class.

FWIW: I'll be at the St. Pete race clickin' away!

i am all for having a sport superstock class as well,, i just think the line will be small in both classes. but i am pretty sure all of us with mod boats would race both classes. heeelll we all still have last years boats collecting dust.

it will give me 2 classes to race. until kawi or yami makes me a 4 stroke stand up. then i will go back to racing standups too.

you should have seen us in charlotte, the entire sport class hung out together in the pits. we all know each other and we promised not to run over anybody until nationals:biggrin:

saki i ran buoys this morning off boca with paul p. it was blast. half track was nice other half of track had 2-3 wakes rolling in.:Banane01:

Lee,

When do you plan on coming up for the St. Pete race? Are you planning on practicing around here in St. Pete at all before the race? If you are I would be interested in running some bouys with you. I doubt I'll enter the race cuz my blaster is no where near being competitive enough. All I've got is a 96 with a factory limited pipe, ride plate, intake grate, etc. No head, porting, etc.

I was really wanting to get into racing, but the money I would have put towards my blaster for racing went towards the 03 superjet I just got.

It sucks that there aren't many races here in Florida anymore. When I realized that hurricanes outnumber races in Florida I decided to get into freeriding.:headbang:

Well if your looking for an extra racer on the course to practice with for the St. Pete race let me know I'm always up for running some bouys. I doubt I'll be any competition on my ski, but if you let me ride that spare of yours I might be able to keep up.

i will arrive friday afternoon, we don't usually practice. it is not allowed on the course until race day. we will be practicing down here every sunday.

if you got the funds come out an race. i don't think there will be a big sport turn out at this race sad to say. most of the sport guys have been traveling to race and are tired. i am going to take the family, it is a nicve race site. very kid friendly.

all you free riders need to come out to atleast one or two races a year. we can pre plan the race and have a huge line up of blasters. i would race my limited to make it equal for all

we will have had 7 races in florida this year. so there is enough to go around

FL-cracker

Yeaaaaa!^^^^^ 15-20 B1's on the line would be the greatest time ever! Next year I would like to get around to a few of these races, down time has killed me this year.

I had no idea that races these days realy are not what they use to be. I remember back in the early 90's, the sport class was HUGE. That was when I was about 5-8yrs old:( ....... I guess that is thanks to the 700lb+ couches....gerrrrr! Lets give this bad arse sport a turn around! More and more standups+blasters are turning up in the area. I have been getting everyones#.

About 2 years ago me and A friend starting riding pitbikes, we are very sochiable(sp) and this last year pit bikes have blown UP! Everyone is cool as hell, and enjoys just chillin, ripping it at the track, and talking/cooling down in the pits. As far as racing Every class the gates are next to full. If you everwant to go try your hand at Mini sx on a full mod race bike hit me up with a PM, but not for a couple months, this is my off season. There are two bad arse tracks in Orlando(owc), and sanford(ACE).I bought my B1 last year, and it is my new $ pit. I ride mini SX in the winter, and ski in the summer. So far I only got 4k into my blaster, I have over 12k in my BBR perimeter 110!

We need to get this shizzle goin! I dont want to hear about my ski ant fast anough! If you got 10 people sayin that, you will still be battiling, who cares what position it is for! I went through all this same shiot with people who rode pitbikes, but were afraid to race. Now they dont miss a race! It is an addiction, that I cant get anough of.

Come on peeps!

So if I wanted to enter that race what would I have to do? I know I need the following:

1. IJSBA Membership
2. Race numbers on the boat
3. Helmet
4. Entrance fee

Am I leaving anything out besides a mod hull with a stroker lamey?:hail:

no ijsba memebership,, they only jerk us off. you need an apba memebrship or a one day pass. helmet, goggles, vest to be legal. we can make temp #'s out of tape if we have tooo. pay your money and step up to the line. even if you don't race, you should stop by and see how things are ru these days. it is definitely not like the old days. it is more fun now, everyone knows each other and 99% leave their attitudes at home.

FLY6584
06-28-2006, 10:26 AM
I'll definitely come out and check it out. so the only thing I need to do prior to race day besides practice is come up with a helmet and goggles. the membership and registration stuff can all be done on race day?

i just ordered a freeride helmet yesterday. too bad I couldn't use that to race with. anyone have an extra helmet they won't be using at the St. Pete race. i really don't feel like buying a helmet for one race.

Yeaaaa...^^^^^ lets see them bad girlz! I can use a MX helmet right? Is there a law that I have to run a stock seat? Right now I am making a completetly custom seat. Does it matter? I know you cant change the top deck, not sure how anal everyone is about a different seat.

i tried taking pics of it before, but you can't see much because of it being black. other than that it looks like any blaster. riva head, speedwerx pipe.

i have 2 spare helmets and goggles but they are both smalls. my head is to small for my mouth i think. i can bring them if need be just let me know.

godocgo
06-28-2006, 11:22 AM
you can use a mx helmet, that is what we all wear. nobody real pays much attention to the sport class as far as rules. the only people who know you are running somethin illegal are the other sport riders. most of us don't care anyway. i personally want to put a hydrospace motor in mine.

just more people to have fun with.

the close blaster in my avatar is the carbon hull, the other one is last years race boat it is missing the motor and pump at the moment. stole those for the carbon hull, i am still waiting on mr. lamey to give up my cylinder so i can have the new motor built.

I normally wear a medium, but I may be able to fit my head into a small. If I can't come up with anything I'll let you know. Thanks for the offer.

You mentioned they don't pay much attention to the sport class as far as rules go. Do you think I could get by with the freeride helmet I just bought. Check it out and let me know what you think. Same one Blowsion has, but its much cheaper on this site:

^^^^For real, I much rather wear a lighter weight helmet, but not trying to push any limits. Light weight MX helmets can cost over $500.

Man, I am pumped about this racing shizzle, hope my boat is together by then. I should be at the nationals for sure! I hope you dont have to have a certain # of races under your belt. If so I will be watching! Ive only ridden around bouys once, but I was told I was ripping:) I dont think I ever got tired, it was pretty much hold her wide open and hug them bouys! As soon as my boat is finished I will be training. I need like a manual or something, I dont even know which color bouy you turn right vs, the one you turn left.lol When we set up ours they were all the same. haha

Blah Blah Blah, I know

godocgo
06-28-2006, 12:48 PM
you can probably get away with that helmet, just wear googles and don't get hit in the head.

red or orange buoys are left truns and yellows are right turns.

basically take red on the left side of the boat and yellows on the right side.
