my 785 r motor hx runs 63 mph @7980 rpm. it is fast compared to most blasters.
two of my freinds built mod blasters that run about the same.
on has a rius powervalve 800 motor 62.5mph
one is a carbon fiber hull power valve lamey stroker judge motor and runs around the same.
both are competitive with my hx.
58 mph will not get it done anymore.
the good thing is that that there are so many good used parts out there.
i built my ski for less than 4000,00.good luck, scott

just goto judgemotorsports.com tim can build you a superfast hx or blaster.
my ss motor in a mod hull did 64.5 on gps in flat water. tims old strokers in stock hulls would run mid 60's all day. i know the hx can get there probably easier as well. you just need to build a good motor and pump combo.

we are running mod rules now, but i think there are only about 4 US riders running any sort of mod. 2 blasters 1 hx and i run a mod hull with ss motor. there maybe more by WF but i don't know. that is if we have a WF's.

So what engine mods are you allowed?? full bigbore, stroker cranks, ada cylinders and lameys... unlimited specs???? Do you have a carbonf fiber hull or sumthing different??

i run standard stoke 85.5 with a mod hull. you can run a lamey stoker as long as it is under 800 cc's. the hull most comply to mod rules. aftermarket bottom with a stock topdeck. mod is pretty much the same as open or superstock. just allowed aftermarket cylinders, cranks and hulls.

I read the uk carbon feiber blaster website, thus you must hav the other one....can wam still make a hull,do they have the mould??

yes he has one left to build, but they are not carbon fiber. wammer builds light weight fiberglass hulls. wammer will build you just the hull for 6000.00. the only carbon hulls i know of were built by rick pott and they all ended up in japan except for the one i have. that is what i was told anyway.
you don't need a after market hull, joe mckenna proves that. he rides a modified stocker. goes like bat out of hell too.
just ride the piss out of what you have. the only way to beat the hx is be a strong rider that does not get tired. they have it easier sitting the entire race. so you will have to out ride them with a strong boat and body.

Check out this thread for pics of the hull extensions Joe built. They are pretty awesome when it comes to keeping the hull in the water when it gets rough.

As for set ups, my stock hull uses a JD intake shoe, JD intake grate (although, I think the WORX is a better grate for hook up) and a ProTec ride plate. The JD intake shoe allows the grate to sit a little lower, and works pretty good. But, the thing you need more than anything to ride the Blaster to it's race potential is endurance. You have to work constantly to keep the B1 hooked up in the rough stuff. Kind of like riding a stand up, you have to "work it" to make it right!

Those are the ones we had on Joe's ski last year, we just trimmed them to make them legal and painted them white. Over the winter, I promiss, I am going to make a mold and make a few of them. You will get the first pair.
I am mailing out your video tomorrow.

Extensions won't be done until the fall at the earliest, we can worry about price then.
Here is a video of the 2nd moto at this past weekends National. The white ski in front is a MOD, the blue ski in second is a stock hull that has been modded. (added "V" and lengthened the hull)

hopefully i will get out with paul on tuesday.Yeah, I made it all the way to the ramps (S.I) only to turn away from all the boomers (it was patchy). Even backed down the ramps at Belvie...didn't even hit the starter. The day was a wash...but not for the lack of trying. :lightning:
If you go Tuesday, PM me time/where...I may go - unless its fresh water.
