i guess the cat has been let out of the bag @ the "other" site. title says it all. bobby is in the process of making a mold of the new style x2 top deck. since he already has the hull mold from his sxr style boats he is already half way there. this is going to be a great project which will enable us to remove substantial weight from the new style x2 and make it more of animal than it already is. the only hurdles we are facing right now are two major hardware componants, the steering setup and the hood hinge. if we are to keep true to the form of the x2 then these parts will play an integral part in the sucess of this project. i am still trying to decide if i should have the oem parts replicted by a local fabricator or just order the parts from overseas. <--(probably the safest bet, and when i figure out how many boats bobby is planning on building i will probably just order that many at once). if i am not mistaken i think he is planning on building ten boats, one of those is already gone. step up, put down a deposit and lets keep the new x2 where it was created, in the US.

well whoever leaked it was not supposed to, but it's out now. oh well. as a matter of fact i really did not care for anyone to know until at least the mold was done.

bobby told me the guys name,i just didn't know what his handle was online
yeah no biggie just wanted to make sure the mold came out right and that any kinks were worked out before we said anything.

i may be way out with this as i have never checked but i was told awile ago that the new x2 steering is very similar or the same as a zxi. i was told kawasaki did this to save time and use up already existing parts , might be worth checking out

I knew it had to be off of another Kawi... Just figuring out which one was the issue. it only makes sense since the seat is off a kawi dirt bike.

The seat on the new X2 is from a 05 KX80 or 110, easily gotten but you need to fabricate the rear center bracket/battery compartment seal plate. I already bought one to verify that the seat base is identical, same p/n. The cover on the seat is slightly different and 2color black green.

The new X2 is a frankenstein!! it is composed of parts from a few different skis and motorycles! The 951 question will be answered in a few weeks after we take measurements when the DooSaki arrives. I have my doubts but R says that it will go, just not with the a/m pipes that are offered. The stock pipe maybe??

Sucks UMI doesnt offer the steering, (which the upper knuckle I know for sure is off of an 05 STX-R, the lower assembly looks close but I cant verify that it is the same as well) that would be nice to be readily available and made in the USA too! There are upper knuckles available from Unlimited Japan and of course full setups from SE. Good luck at that tho...I was extremely lucky to get an Unlimited knuckle 2 years ago at WFs.

PS how much is a Trinity lightweight hi-flo hood for a new X2? When you know, if its comparable I have my deposit ready!!

Thanks for all the info. I'm going to make a box for the batt. That way I can glue it under the seat and to the pump self, it will also add strength. I'll set it up to drain to out side of the seat area I want the back of the ski dry.

gotta grab my seat back from bobby, but i am sure it is not the seat on the klx110 (no such thing as kx 110 maybe kx 100?) the seat looks more like a kiddie atv seat, like kfx 80 / 90 maybe even kfx 50. what is the part number?

then its the kx100, whatever the smallest bike they made...I will get the pn this afternoon off the seat...the core is the same for about 10 different models of bike seats, just the bracket and cover are different.

See in the mfiche that the seat has the 2 side brackets? The core has mounting holes for those, as well as a few other applications. The one I got was an 06 and it is green black. the 05 is grey/black. You still need to fab the plate for the X2s center mount/battery cover. Its just a flat piece of 3/16 aluminum cut and bent. Attaches to the seat via pop rivets. I can give you dimensions and pictures... will post pics this afternoon.

also all the seats that use this core use the identical front catch but I cant find it in the mfiche

The yellow seat is from the X2, and the green one is from the KX100 (06 model) I believe all the seats utilizing this core have a pn beginning with 53066-

I stopped by the Trinity shop last weekend for a while, this X-2 is going to be pretty sweet. I've not really paid much attention to the new one since it was never sold here, but IMO it looks a LOT better than the old style x-2, and I'm thinking it's going to ride a million times better..........although I have never been on an x-2 of any variety. I called dibs on a ride once Bobby has some built :booty:
