Just getting ready to start installing a factory wetpipe soon. Right now the engine is stock and a TBM intake is installed. Was wondering with the installation of the pipe if I should be changing the prop as well. Most threads that I have read, the engines and have been heavily modded and therefore the prop as well. Can this stock prop run a stock engine with a FP wetpip ok or should I call impros in the morning?

Stock props are great, the nozzle however is really to small to let the motor free.

Is everyone boring out the nozzle? I was under the impression that they were boring the reduction on the pump output.

Gotcha!! Was also wondering what is the best needle positions on the wetpipe when tuning the carbs. If you can adjust the power curve by the waterflow, would that confuse you when tuning. Sorry for the nube questions but this is my first pipe install.

Sorry for the nube questions but this is my first pipe install.I would personally start with the top open one turn and the others closed, then dial the carbs and go from there. See how hot it gets and how much bottom end you get, you may want to dry it out for more top kick. I have not done one on the SXR, but the 750 X2 and 701 I have responded noticeably from water screw adjustments. I believe 80mm nozzle bore is a good starting point, and/or a Wetwolf cone.

Thanks Crab. I had totally forgot about the bore until you mentioned it earlier. Since I ride primarily on lakes, I like a good combination of both freestyle and racing. Not sure if I want the freestyle cone or the adjust a thrust. I am getting more info from Wetwolf.

I'm still running a stock prop and it is fine. A beat to crap, dinged up, bent stock prop at that.

Thanks for the reply Korn. I think that I will try the stock prop and see how it goes. I just want to minimize the downtime with the pipe install, tuning, and pump mod.

Stock prop will work just fine. Bore your reduction nozzle to 80mm and get those carbs dilaed in and you will be fine. You may look into a Jet Works flow control valve as well. That will help with a little more bottom end snap. I like the water to start flowing on them at about 3000 RPM.

Sweet. Thanks for reminding me about the valve. I have to get one on order asap.

Is there any difference betweeen the one that blowsion offers vs the jetworks? I just went ahead and ordered the adjustable one from blowsion. What is everyone setting the pressure to? Does someone have a data curve linking RPM to Pressure?

I usually set mine by RPM (If you have a tach). I like mine to come on at about 3000 RPM. The adjustable one is the way to go IMO.

Cool. Was just wondering if anyone has measured what pressure they are seeing at what RPM?
