Visit www.wavedaze.com to register your ski for this year's ride! Registration is $35 per ski, but there is an early bird special that is in effect and you can register each ski for only $25! This offer is good until September 26th! AWA members can register their skis for $25 ANYTIME!

In order to register for the event online, you must also register with the site first, but it is an easy process.

Our goal is to have 100 skis this year and we know that it will be one BIG party! :Banane09:

You have to register on there or on the beach at the event to be able to ride in the surf. It basically buys you a permit for the weekend to ride.

Same as Daytona but very cool that you can do it online ahead of time!

That is cool. It took me about an hour to get my permit in Daytona. Thats nice to be able to do it online!

Good Call ! Fire Ex. I dont think is a must. because you can fountain a ski out...

But I am a HUGE fan of Lanyard. If you put it on your vest you dont even notice it.

It takes one time for your ski to go beeming to a person swimming further down beach, and we all Done !

fire extinguishers are the law in VA. I understand that everyone doesn't have one & I don't know how strictly the police check, but I'd recommend having one.

If your ski can take a lanyard, you should have one. Thats according to the authorities.

I put mine in the hull by the tank, I wedge in there until I get down to beach and get saftey check. But then I take it out. There is a thread on this and I have had ex. come loose and do damage. More than once.
So I gave up on having them in hull. Ill take the ticket.

i freakin hated lanyards to.. i just started wearing it for the past three rides .. i dont know y i even rode without the thing it was dumb. so much easier when the ski just cuts off... i wear it all the way at the top of my arm so its not in the way.. only down side is having to put the :-):-):-):-)er back on the start/stop switch when ya got a 6 foot wave breakin on ya. that sucked

yeah, I do what beachjunkey used to do.

Wear the lanyard on the left & a whistle on the right. I'm thinking about lengthening my lanyard, but it stays out of the way for the most part.

put your fire extinguisher in a back pack till you get to the beach, thats what we do in cleveland. they only stop us at the ramps though.

The police were there in support of the event keeping swimmers and surfers out of the ride zone. I'm sure they'll be there again this year. If you don't leave the ride zone along the beach, which is huge, you'll be fine. I think 2 tickets were given out last year to a rider who not only left the zone (for the record, I believe the charges were dropped) but was too close to the pier and the shore.

the wife and i would just like to ride around...and hut some surf there....i looked and read the website info....but it wasent clear what the deal is
