I'm heading out tomorrow for Cleveland to work for about a week. Just wanted to see if anyone will be riding between now and then. I had such a good time up there for the Rock N Ride, I'm for SURE bringing my ski. If anyone out there is planning on riding any day between Thursday, and probably Wednesday of next week, PM me or give me a call.

Matt, according to everything I've checked...(about five sites, we will still have nice smooth 1-2 footers out of the Northeast). Nothing huge, but should be fun and spread out. Waves won't start building until late afternoon.

Winds NE at 7mph from 2pm until 6pm, then dying.

(Saturday looks fun, NW @ 12mph) choppy but fun!
(Next Wednesday, ENE @ 12mph) should be killer!

Where did you find the lake cam.... The waves were about 1.5 feet at the beach and shrank quickly down to about nothing. We still had fun... It was beautiful out. The water is VERY clean and so is the Beach. No more clogging for anybody.

Seriously though that cam is a little East of Cleveland - Euclid actually. Its not the only camera in my arsenal but none were close enough to catch you guys on today. We should put one on a tower in the back of Madmat's house.

Where do you get your wave reports from? I just looked at the weather.gov marine forecast. Is that close to accurate? It says this afternoon waves 2-4 foot. According to the page I just looked at today is 2-4, Saturday is 1-3 and Sunday is 1-3. The wind direction varies from North to West from Saturday to Sunday. I'm sure you guys probably know where to look for the right info.
I'm going to take a lunch break and go take a look. I'm working on 9th St in Lorain so I'm really close to the water. Will the waves be different from here to the ride spot?
I may knock off around 3-4 if it looks like fun and I can find someone to ride with. I'll also be gluing my damn hood seal down on my lunch break, thats becoming a PITA.

You tattle tale... you let out my secret... I still have a few other cams closer to edgewater... but I still think we need to talk madmat into putting up a tower with a cam and weather station in his back-yard!

Seriously though I wish I was there I would ride with you guys... 5 days till I get off this rig and start heading home.

X-2-Addict... if you are working in Lorain there is a pretty good ramp right up broadway behind the police station and the powerplant... it is a free ramp (6-ramps) but it has some special rules for jet-skis... like: they like to put us in the nastiest and dirtiest ramp on busy days but today you should be ok... I live not to far from lorain and ride at all the Lorain County Ramps all the time.

If you head out from that ramp (no wake for 100 yrds from the ramp) and out around the lighthouse to the west along that break-wall and out by the mouth you can usually catch some serious waves if the wind is right. It is all private beach along there until you get to the park... the park has it's own breakwall. You will see :nana:

There is also a free launch about 5 miles or so down E. Erie ave / Lake Ave (Rt 6) in sheffield... it is right on Rt 6 on the Left side (north). It is brand new and very nice 2 ramps there. They built the break wall the wrong way though so it tends to collect som garbage at the ramps.

Then about 5 miles down (or less distances are a guess) from there is Miller Road boat launch, also right on Rt 6 / Lake Rd in Avon Lake (Northside of the road.) This is a pay ramp it costs $5 to put in there but it is by far the cleanest and one of the nicest launches around. It has a very short ride to the beach (east of the launch) the water is very warm there this time of year (80-90 deg f) the beach is located at the output of the power plant. From here though is the closest ride to that Bay Villiage Camera... its about 5 miles or so east of this launch. This is my normal hangout b/c of the warmer water year round and cleaner / faster launches. Again it does cost $5 to launch here though...

From there you will have to head into cuyahoga county and the next public launch is in rocky river in the metro parks... that is a 12 min ride from ramp to open lake water... not fun for stand-ups I would imagine. I usually take a nap on my couch on the way out there but nice scenery on the way though lots of expensive boats and houses to look at...

From there you are back to edgewater where the Rock and Ride was at.
