you using a spring????

my stock -3 pole will stay pinned vertical if i remove my limiting rope....even with a "heavy" stock chinpad

i have a blowsion lowered bracket as well so i lost the pole pin latch option that came with the stock pole bracket.

i think my blowsion spring is too strong... but my back doesnt hurt after i ride from holding up a heavy pole the whole time

EDIT - on my SJ with AC or UMI pole (I forget) - I use a 13mm or 14mm combination wrench as a prop rod. I put the open end up and hook it on the bottom of the pole opening and then put the box end on the lip where the hood seal goes.

If that doesn't make any sense I can try and take a picture alter tonight.

The stock SXR handpole keeper up pin assembly will not work with aftermarket sj style poles. I was using the stock SJ handpole pin set up just cut in half. It worked well until it broke.
I now keep a stainless bolt the correct size to keep the pole up when wrenching. I keep this bolt slipped into the lanyard.

Easiest thing to do. Instead of buying a spring tensioner, get a block of aluminum the same height, and drill 2 holes in it. zip tie it around the rubber boot over th bottom of your stock kawi spring, you can rotate the block to keep tension on th pole or take it off so you pole isnt always under stress when not being ridden. I have this on my UMI setup and its the best thing ever....and the pole stays up

Tighten the bolt through the pole mount until it stays wherever you put it.

I got what I thought was a deal on the UMI. Upon reflection, I wish I had gotten the X-Metal.
