Meh....here's my fine contribution to this subsection of the board.
One of the phillips screws in the VForce reedcages let go.
Pisses me off.
Anyone got 83.25mm pistons for me? :woot: :bs2:

sorry dude.
Ive always worried about that... not V-force, but any reeds.
I dont guess loctite and nylon fasteners would hold huh?

Dont worry Matt, eventually everyone will have to start their own thread here.
Thats wild looking the way the screw head is lodged in the top of the piston...

I feel for you Matt! That is pretty wild looking! What are the odds of that screw to end in the perfect position to be pressed into the piston and the dome? How did the cylinder fair.will it take a hone or will you have to bore?

I thought I could get away with a bore.
Unfortunately, the sleeve has a chunk missing now.
So, I'm probaly looking at a new topend.
arghhhhh
dude that sux sorry

More pics of the carnage.
See the sleeve. And the screw that caused all the trouble. Well, the open hole for it, anyhow.
Also, notice the thrustwasher on the crank. Is that a problem? It spins freely. Seems the damage is cosmetic.
Opinions?

What happened to the piece of sleeve? did you find it?
Matt_E
06-19-2006, 01:06 AM
Don't know. :frown:
I suspect it went out the top too. I am going to split the cases to find out for sure.

Freakin' vulture!
I was considering selling it for whatever it's worth. (What's it worth to ya? )
However, I think I want to just keep it around. I'll remove the sleeves, , work on more porting tunnel porting, and get big bore sleeves.
All as time and money permits, of course.
