I saw some people posting questions about where to put an extinguisher on an Octane on another forum. Thought I'd post my solution here as well.

According to Randy, the stock extinguisher used to be strapped across the electrical box, and frequently this causes the cover to warp. My cover was a little warped, probably from this as well.

This is the best location I could come up with. I ran with it today with no problems, we'll see how it holds up after a season or two....

The bracket is pop-riveted to the hood. I used a zip-tie to positively hold the strap closed. I'm pretty sure I can break this loose in a hurry if necessary.

good fix, but in any type of f/s or freeride application that wouldnt survive one pancaked landing...

if youre racing, it'll work great!

Nice solution by your missing your Hood Air Vent Tubes.

BTW let me know if you ever make it up to the syracuse area. It would be fun to ride around with another octane.

if you keep the fire ex under the hood
fill the nozzle with superglue or epoxy
you DO NOT want that puppy going off under the hood!
dry powder in motor = engine rebuild

Hood Vents, Not sure what type of riding you prefer but if you like to sub they protect the motor from water I suppose. They are just light plastic accordion type tubing. Number "15" in below picture.
