How 'bout a "Hitching Post" forum.
At school there is a board of the Great State of Texas divided into different areas, and beside the map are pockets corresponding to the different areas (and one pocket for outside Texas). If someone is going to that area of the state, they can "hitch" a ride to the city.
Ex: The Dallas/Ft. Worth area would be "H", so Joe would put his contact info in the "H" pocket indicating his interest to go to "H" on the 12th of June. Sam is going home to Dallas that weekend and does not want to drive solo, so he checks the "hitching post" to see if anyone is going his way. As luck has it, Joe wants to go to Waco which is on the way to Dallas (via Hwy 6 to I-35). (This is very popular during Thanksgiving and Christmas)
How bout something like that for riders to say "hey, I will be at Lake Titicaca on the 21st if anyone wants to join." Very informal, or we can set a standard of Date - Location.
I know the events forum is kinda like that, but it seems like it is for bigger events not the "hey I will be there if you want to join me" type day of riding.
Maybe call it "The Riders Depot" or something...
