All I've been doing the past two to three weeks on every ride is trying rolls. I've probably thrown a couple hundred or more in the past couple weeks of riding. Of which, I've ridden out of maybe 50, and actually made it plate to plate on about 5-10. So the right side of my ski has taken a POUNDING. I just don't have big enough waves to get around on most of the time, so it just gets bashed.
Thankfully I reinforced it pretty well when I built the ski, so it's held up until recently. We had a couple days of barges, and I spent two days at Kentucky Dam, and down into Tenessee on KY lake where there is a TON of cruiser traffic. I got WAY more air in my rolls, so I landed a lot harder, and put some nice crackes down the right side. Also completely shattered the latch area of my hood. The cracks go down to just where I started the reinforcing, directly under the lip. Theres also a long one going down the back corner, which is where my reinforcing stopped. Live and learn. It's coming apart right now to get some extra reinforcing before the weekend.

Not to put salt in your wounds, but the placement of those bilge outlets didn't really make that section stronger. Maybe you should try another location, further up/back? Just my 2 cents....

Yeah thats the first thing I noticed! It was just the easiest spot to put them, but I realize now what I did. Like I said, live and learn. I'll try to move them up past the carbs if I can fit them. Not much room in there.

My bilge outlet is where the P is on that sticker. I didn't put it there, but it seems to flow water just fine.

Had I been doing this, I wouldn't have had this much damage! Unfortunately only a small percentage of my rolls wound up plate to plate.
Can't complain though, I'm pretty stoked that I'm fixing damaga due to BARREL ROLLING. :bananajump:
Just this time last year I was pretty happy to have nailed a sub.

It's all your fault. I watched all you bad mofo's rip it up in Daytona, and decided I had to be doing the same. I'll be rolling steady next time I hit the surf. If I can get anyone down here talked into making me a nice V-Wake, I'm planning on trying to backflip this baby SOON.

I will my self if I can get this back together, and get the right wave. I just can't seem to get anyone together to make me a big V-wake. I've never hit one, but damn it looks like fun. Good luck to you J. All I have to say is, VIDEO. :brap:

Shougrider is also threatening to do the same he tells us, either way should be a fun weekend.

It wasn't pretty to begin with! No worries there.
I realize how badly I need one of those fancy hulls like you have now Shawn.
Saving my pennies.

congrats on the plate to plate and on those cracks mine did the same thing. landing upside down or on the sideit puts alot of stress on not only the sides but the steering tower as well hence the jetskihaven tower brace. the sock bars do noting for the pulling forces on the tower awat from the nose. or twards it for that matter except the hood is there to stop it from moving forward, what stops it from flexing rearward and seemingly splitting the hull

You wouldn't even believe how many times those stickers have done the jelly-roll my friend. I'll try to take a still of it. Need a better quality video camera to get that one I think.
