So i have a 1990 js550 and it porpoises like you wouldnt believe. Is there a way to adjust the trim. I tried putting some weight in the front, it helped but not much. I am sure that losing about fifty pounds of butt would help alot but since that is more of a long term goal I figured I would see if anyone has had the same problem and found a solution. Any help would be appreciated, unless it is the buy a SJ route, not an option:moon:.

lean forward and/or get an extended plate.

Who makes extended plates for the 550? I have tried leaning forward and it helped some but not enough. Are there any shorter poles made or would i be better off modding the one I have?

Look up Waxhead on here,he had a bunch of old jetski stuff for sale on FLEABAY,surely theres an extended ride plate for a 550 in there somewhere.

Just shim the back of the ride plate down about 1/4" and see how you like that if you like how that feel's then you can look for a extended plate or ride it like that.

shortened 3" and shaved down to the seam line. sold this ski last yr.

i can reproduce it for about 200.00 if you send me your core or 250.00 if i find and supply one

I will give that a try and see how it does. I still havent found anywhere to buy an extended one, guess I will just keep trying.

Well that was a bust, the ride plate and intake grate is one big piece. The Plate is called a wave shredder race legal or something like that. Anyone know anything about this plate? Are mot after market grates/plates two piece or what?

e-mail John Zigler and see what he has. He should be able to hook you up with a much better ride plate.
