1. Rebuilding my pump on my 1989 JS 550 since there was some type of vibration at low speeds. Had a pump rebuilding kit purchased a few years ago and noticed the shaft seals are the same. Shop manual has them as being two different part numbers. They are both the smooth seal without the ridge in the middle. Will this hurt having both seals being the inner seal?
2. question number two. The stainless solas prop had some material removed where it was hitting the pump body. I was thinking the only way the prop could come in contact with the pump body would be that the bearing were bad. After removal and degreasing, bearing seem fine with just a little play in the one. Would this be the cause of the vibration since the scratches in the pump were fresh. or should i also replace the bearing inside the engine compartment
