I am looking for a way to increase the bottom end performance of my ski without spending $800 on a pipe. I don't really need the 23hp increase, but if I could get say an xtra 10hp by spending half the $$$ then I would be pleased. I know that the reed spacers alone give you 3, so what sort of mod(s) might I be able to do for ~$3-400 to get approx. 7 more hp?
and I already purchased a pump cone, so that will help the bottom end, so I got a start, and its $150 to get the head milled and domes re-shaped up here, so I am hopeing thats gonna be at least an extra 3 (anyone have a more accurate # rather then my pure guess??) but yeah...thanks! haha

Best way to get alittle more out of it is bump up compression, rejet carbs, and advance timing.
Don't bother with the reed spacers unless you go with reeds & carbs.

what scorn said...........
rejet carbs can also help............
repitched prop by IMPROS can give you more snap off the bottom.

I agree with scorn.
the timing advance is a nice bump.

New impeller will make a noticable difference.

I've got a 6º advance, wamiltons stubby cone and reed spacers on my 05 SXR and it helps. The reed spacers I hardly noticed, but they were cheap so I dont care lol. The advance made a difference I could feel, and the pump cone was a LARGE improvement, WAY more bottom end grunt

what about lightening the fly wheel...

so putting the spacers on w/o carbs isnt going to do anything? what if I put on the spacers as well as VF3's?
and I was thinking about lightening the flywheel, but how much can you actually take off of the stock one? Too much and it gets wrecked, not enough and its just a waste of time...has anyone experimented with this?

I'd send it to a shop that does them all the time. Probably run you 35-50 bucks.

The spacers with the vf3's might give you a little quicker accelleration. But I'm not sure if you'll feel it. Again your no going to really benefit from the reeds becuase your using the stock intake manifold. These items really only come in to play as a package with carbs.
