This is what you get when you tell me I can't drink beer and lay turf at the same time.

it's an all original 1977 YZ80. There's a couple good pics of it in this thread.

That was DBRutherford's idea. I wasn't all sold on it until I saw it laid down. It definitely looks nicer than lines parallel or perpendicular with the footwell.

Nice turf, but Ultra doesn't count as beer. A 12 year old girl could drink a 12 pack and still go to school...
Ags told me his sister does it all the time. ;)

Bwahaha...well, maybe I don't have the tolerance of a 12 year old girl! ha:twak:

Very nice turf. I like the 45 deg. angle used in the tray.
I had to do it that way. The turf I bought was left over or overstock purple. Well HT screwed me and ran the ribs in the turf long ways down the sheet. So if I cut the trays out, the ribs would have been running from front to rear and would have been pretty bad looking. What sucked though was that I had to buy two sheets. One sheet wasn't big enough to get two trays with opposite angles out of it. I could only get two trays with the angles going the same direction. Which again if they angled the same way it would have looked bad too. Back in the day I had some blue turf and they run the ribs horizontal across the tray from side to side. Well hose ribs wore pretty bad since the edge was always getting worn on from ridding. I am hoping the angled turf won't wear as bad.
I was glad I decided ot do some padding too. That old turf I had on my old 95 X2 that I killed a few years back didn't have any padding. Steve talked me into it and it feel comfy. Reminds me of a plush couch in the back room of a strip club or something...
If anyone wants a pair of tray pads cut just like these and a pair of turf for the rails, PM me. Othereise they will be going on eBay. I have to get some funds back for buying two sheets of, two sheets of padding, two quart size cans of DAP Weldwood, and two shipping charges from HT.
My 94 X2 will be getting black diamond turf. I have it finish precutting it as well...
