here are pics of a fx-1 chamber next to a mod chamber. the longer one is the fx-1 chamber. it doesnt look much different anywhere else. i bought the mod chamber new about a year ago. the fx-1 chamber i got from lbe , so im not sure how old it is. i dont know if they are making the fx-1 chambers the same as they did ten years ago. my buddy has an fx-1 chamber in his fx-1 that he bought brand new about 10 years ago (for $300, lucky bastard). his looks like it has a little more clearance than mine. i'll try and take pics of his next time i see it.
THIS IS THE FX-1 WITH THE MOD CHAMBER INSTALLED

THESE ARE THE TWO CHAMBERS SIDE BY SIDE.
(the longer chamber is the fx-1 chamber)
interesting...I didnt know it was longer..
THe mod chamber I used is a bit different than that..its an older style FPP with no tuning screws..
fits with a stock tank just like yours..no rubbing!

which one is better for the fx1 if trying to purchase one? Which one makes the best performance difference?
Anyone know which chamber comes with the octane? I have an octane b-pipe and wondering if its going to fit in my fx-1?
I got my answer thanks to RMBC freeride, the octane chamber is "a SuperJet "MOD" chamber that has an oversized outlet welded on it. Wamiltons used to sell one this way (maybe still does). Works great on a 98-08 Superjet because the outlet fits the waterbox hose perfectly".
So by the looks of Infamy's pics it should fit in my fx1, although mine is getting a round nose gas tank at the same time so who knows how it will all fit.

anyways, back to the original question. is their any performance differences between the mod chamber and fx1 chamber on the fx1.

dont be dissin on the octane..that just shows your newbism
the octane is an incredible platform! but I guess thats why wammer designed it
I cant imagine much difference between an fx chamber vs. a mod chamber...now, a ltd. vs. a mod absolutely
has anyone put a ltd in an fx yet? I was feeling it out last night but it will require some serious tank meltage

it will be tight, but should fit....one area to watch will be the fuel pickups..they might hit the hoodliner..it'll be close

The production Octane was actually a bit different than the prototype that wammer designed.

I do know that we put an FX1 pipe on a stock 96 SJ and it had less power than my 96 SJ with a Limited chamber B Pipe.

depends on the pipe, if you go with a Dry Pipe, you will have hood clearance issues. as far as Pipe setups similar to the B Pipe, you should be fine (coffmans, old R&D.)

hey forumhitler, can you read?
the question was, "Anyone know which chamber comes with the octane? I have an octane b-pipe and wondering if its going to fit in my fx-1?"
in other words, he wants to know if the octane chamber will fit in an FX-1.
