BY THE RIDERS FOR THE RIDERS..... Not for some corporations bottom line.
IMO SBT has seen the progress of Freeride and the standup riders in general and now they want to get a market share... don't blame them for trying, but I'm not here to make the man rich.... I'm here to promote freeride and have a good time w/ like minded people... the key being like minded.
This site will continue where PWCT left off the day the site was sold. Owned by riders and corporate free......
I have nothing personally against SBT, just not my cup of tea....
Let's show how much we appreciate the guys starting this site, tell your buds around about it and link people to this site... It will be the biggest PWC site on the Internet soon... :)

Shhhh.....this is the best kept secret. Seriously, I'm glad the "feeling" is back again. The other site just lost all of the commaraderie(sp) and is becoming tooooooo commercialized. Like Slut said, that's not what this sport is about. I think the timing is just perfect too. Everyone who was at Daytona is still so pumped from an extraordinary event & now you come back to a site like this. Awesome.....

Posts like that are not in the mindset of what we're going after,
negative bull**** doesn't help ANYONE. Keep it off the site or you'll
be kept off the site.
I really just don't get you, everyone said you were cool at Daytona
but you get online and you're a negative attitude asshole?
darin WTF is your problem with that post? did anyone else get an email from him or does he still have nothing better to do than to put me under the microscope? when i talked to magoo at daytona, he said "anything goes, but try to be good". was my post really that terrible?

i disagree. only one thing had to moderated and i will agree with that.
me saying "fpwct" is exactly how i feel. sorry if it hurts you that i dont like some corperate website. i still feel that it wasnt moderation-worthy. i think you over reacted on it. especially since many others are pretty much saying the same thing and the ones that arent saying it are certainly thinking it.

Good luck SBT. I will stop posting on a regular basis, kinda weird but the attitudes of some members changed (mostly those here, myself included). I think it is because there is a differnent feel, a commercial motivation. Kind of like an auto mfgr that has forums on their site. Just think that Thunderbird owners club, or Camero, Mustang, etc. actually hosted by Ford, Chevy, ...
Tip of the iceberg is the forwarding of SBT traffic to PWCT.
Frosty

The way I look at it is this... SBT bought their way to instant access to over 15,000 members of a popular website. In doing so, they gain control over site content to a huge degree. And I complete agree with michael950.
However, it's in the past now. I love this new site and I will do the majority of any on line posting here. Big thanks to SuperJett for taking the lead for everyone.

Without taking sides, I'd like to point out that the bashing is part of what made PWCToday what it was: independent, irreverent, and frank. There were very few sacred cows. Sure there were limits, but if they are drawn tighter at this site than what we had, what will be the difference between this site and PWCT?
(and I don't mean profanity and pornography. I understand the need for some people to have a work-safe site.)
Here is a novel idea: How about establishing a rule that if two or more people are going at it to the point where it's too much for the mods/admins to feel they have things under control, institute the "ignore" feature for them and mandate it for a 'cooling off' period of a set number of days (maybe start with a week or something). Forced ignoring instead of banning might work better. Of course, we'd need the ignore feature turned on.
Maybe even have it voted on.

It always seemed to be just a bit more reigned in than Rec.sport.jetski to me. It started where and when RSJ hit a dead end. Maybe I'm being too loose in my definition of bashing. I see it as people weren't afraid to speak their mind, not just acting like trolls. If you had a problem with someone, something, or what someone was saying, you could state your piece without worrying about being banned unless you crossed into cursing/threatening territory.
Maybe the Ignoring could just be suggested through PM's.
I've only used the ignore feature once, and I thought it worked well.
But hey, it's your show.

Sub, I agree with you on the debating, that is what made the site so good, but in the past certain members when they came across a good debate they would turn it into their own personal flame zone............. I think we can all work together to make this site be like PWCT was at the inset.............

Premix is right! The sport needs to grow. If we stay this small happy family, a year from now we will not be any better for our efforts.
Please continue to be part of PWCT. Your being there will help all those unfortunate couch riders to see the way of the stand-up! Since the X started a week ago, I have been in contact with SBT / PWCT admins. They seem to understand where we are coming from & what is Ahead.
Both sites can get along well. Keep an open mind & follow the path that suits you.
The stand-up / Freeride craze we are experiancing is unbelivable. The sport has gone full circle back to its roots. In the begining, everyone rode stand-ups for pure enjoyment, there were very few races or promotors. the sport was in its infancy. The likes of Herbie Fletcher & Randy Lane were the Joe Kennys of today. It was Fun to ride!
Open up our world to the squatters. You just might enjoy teaching somebody a new trick!
