Next was cleaning up the hull and doin a ton of glass work. I had to get rid of the indentations on the rails, fix up the 24-7 footholds, fix some small cracks around the pole bracket and grind off all that extra bonding glue. Not to mention fixing what was left of the bottom of the hull.

Next was sending parts out for polishing and powder coating. This was done at Corsa Performance with the help of my dad, Dale Sr.

I also sanded and painted a bunch of parts myself with High Temp Engine Paint.

After priming the hull and waiting for the Green to get sprayed on my brother rebuilt the engine. We had it bored over, and put in fresh Wiseco Pistons and Rings, Painted the Cyllinders and Cases, cleaned up the ports, Sandblasted and painted the head, found the spiky head nuts from Colony Machine, had the Factory Wet Pipe sandblasted, powdercoated and polished. Jeff then ground the hell out of the cyllinders so the girdle kit would fit. The carbs were repainted and the old Vortex Arrestors from my 550 were polished and custom lifters were made so they would fit my carbs.

Next, the hull showed up painted green. It was Blowsion SXR Handlepole 03 paint. The hull actually had to be painted white first, then a light green, then the 03 SXR Blowsion Green.

Then reassemble mode! and Decals from pwcgraphics and ebay.
Notice the Custom Cadillac Exhaust tip my dad modded on the back and the bling bling shiny UMI pole that he polished...He looks happy about how it came out!

The inside of the hull was truck bed coated bright sparkly white. Jeff then went to town on the turf padding. He did a killer job using a grinder to get the padding the way he liked it... The blood is from razor blading turf. :banghead:There was a lot of blood in this build. :sneaky: We also added a rear toe clip from a waterski instead of a kite board strap. It is super comfy... but a tiny bit small even though it is an extra large. It is great for going barefoot.

Internal Fuel Fill: :banghead: :irked: Stupid mod... Who cares about the extra pint of gas.?.?. I should've forked out the bucks for the Blowsion kit... because we sawzalled up the gas tank and rigged it all up and it leaks now... I have to rip my engine back out to fix it. Edit... it fixed pretty easy. I still wouldn't bother with this mod if I had to do it again.

I wish I had a pic of jeff covering it up with a sleeping bag when we met up with you guys..........that was cracking me up :haha: Awsome build guys. The Riot Ride was a blast. I love the pic of all the superjet and then the SX-F, really added a new dimension to the buildoff. You guys need to do an old X-2 next year with a sxr 800 motor

Yeah.......he was toying with your emotions on that one...:haha: Then he ditched you on the expressway. I hate to say it but we were laughing so hard on that one :haha: Nothing like cutting infront of a tractor trailer and darting across 2 lanes of highway to hit the exit just in time.

Absolutly awsome build. But I was just wondering why you decided to stay with a choke setup instead of a primer? And I used to skate board when I was younger, I remember when Zero skate boards started, when Jamie Thomas was riding for them. haha

djkorn1
06-21-2006, 02:03 AM
I went with the choke as more of a safety feature than anything. I have had skis free rev and it sucks. This way I can just turn the choke and it dies. I guess I just didn't have any issues with the choke, so why get rid of it. The ski had plenty of power after I tuned it in.

I definately do things a little differently. (rachet straps, choke, foot warmers, automatic bilge instead of a switch).

djkorn1
07-03-2006, 02:25 AM
I finally found a pic of the foot warmers.. They turn off with the 3rd switch below the choke and fuel switches.

Yes I did. Bad crank bearing. I should have replaced the crank last winter. :banghead:

What did you use to clean the inside of the hull? Purple Power and pressure washer?

What / where did you get the sparkly white truck bed paint for the inside of the hull?
