Shorten a stock squarenose pole?

Can it be done? Can't seem to see where a cut would be made near the mount points and if it could be reattached. Please give me details, thanks :hail:

Oh yeah...I don't think it's practical (or even possible) to shorten it near the base. See the PWCToday thread I linked.
