Curiosity was killing Mrs. Shonuff (and boredome too), so I searched out the root cause of the rather obnoxious gathering and events that engulfed Fort Pickens Beach and Pensacola Beach Saturday evening. No news or record of a shooting was found (as reported by one of the displaced Fort Pickens Beach wedding attendees at the Paradise Inn----the bride looked lovely) but this brief news report explains the events . . .

an unauthorized rap record release party that turned into a riot that was set off w/ the arrest of 1 single individual

the arrest count was 20 not 6 and that was only due to lack of transportation

my officer in charge of our security said that he and another 2 officers threw tear gas grenades into the corwd and used the chopper to spread it via a low hover.

by no means was this a normal occurance here on the beach.

they closed the beach to on and off going traffic for about 2hrs to locateand isolate several indiduals they were looking for.

And we were having such a damned good time, we never noticed it until the popo chopper kept flying overhead.

Family time and yes, we were all a little sunburned. We were trying to keep up with Cailey but she's a Florida native so we never stood a chance. We burned up like little cocktail weenies.

I forgot my cell phone was in my pocket early Saturday and went out riding. Yes, it killed it. I got over to Gil's room right after you dorks left for Hooters and since his number was in my dead phone, I had no way to get a hold you all. So - I went to CRABS with YamaCat, SteelDog, JetTechNow, and his fire-fighting posse. It was lovely to have Jarrod offer me the fish that was unfit for his consumption. Sunday morning, I passed you on my way to pick up my skis.

Think about the LOTO ride. We'll see you there.

Pete, my brother and I rode late and we were there for the tear gassing/arrests. It was really funny to watch! The helicopter was a nice touch.

i would rather eat dog poo than do that job. those guys have it rough. mega-props to them for not loosing their cool. I'd be kicked off the force for being way too rough if i had to deal with that crap.
