My ski has wet pipe, ada head, tdr water box stock carbs with FPP jetting, everything else is on my build page, i was wondering if anyone else was bogging down wile doing tail stands and nose stabs if not on the gas well enough to keep that water from filling up the waterbox and chamber of the pipe and if there is anyway to fix this, or just keep on trhe throttle with stuff like this.

They do that really bad with the wet pipe on no front exhaust. Also watch it because you can overheat the motor from doing tail stands for too long. Mine hit about 300 and some degrees in about 10 sec. I don't think it will hurt, but it is definitely not going to help.
Mine does it too, 180psi compression from milled head helped a little. what I do now is
when tail standing I try to keep the rear hood intakes out of water, if they go under just for a sec it start to load up mad & it takes full throttle to pull out, other wise it bogs minimum. When nose stabbing, as soon as I enter the water I let go of the throttle this keeps the carbs from loading up a lot, I let the skis boyince(cant spell the word) raise me to the top of the water & the power out.

Hang on to that throttle and sub straight in!!!!:headbang:

Loud. I'm going to run one of my pissers into the outlet to quiet it down. It might not be loud to you guys, I just am not a fan of obnoxious skiis.

nah you should be alright, duals usually aren't to bad. when you hear how loud shaes is its not going to matter, he is just making his obnoxious....... probably going to lead to trouble.
i love the dry so far, i had it in the surf and a little flatwater in Daytona, its not perfectly tuned yet and it smokes my wet pipe in every aspect. i am just a little nervous to see how it holds up. i will let you know more in about 2 weeks when i am back on the water with the shortened hull.....

I dont think I am going to make the rock n ride this year, with gas prices the hell if I can afford that. Maybe if I somehow get some money I'll make it out.
I'll let you know how it sounds after I put the pisser in though.

If i took my arestors off you can see the milky white/red gas/water mixture....... I also am going to fibglass the hole i made in mine so it dosnet act like a siphon. Im also going to do some carb tuning and call it a day, played with the carbs today and it made a big difference, Will dont even worry about your hood thats not the problem.

I dunno if I would 2 part foam it. If I had to do it again I wouldn't. Should have just gone with styrofoam to fill where the exhaust was. Maybe just add a drain like what came stock.

DO NOT FOAM AN SXR!!!!
will it survive the abuse year after year with out any foam in the hull, what about sinking.
what is the easiest way to gut the foam, i want to do it if its not to bad.

you could always take your one pisser and throw it into the T, at that point it wont do anything bad for performance..

Well officer mike fabed me up a side exhaust out of a 45 degree exhaust turn down that was on his jeep for over a year, and flanges made out of electrical box from someone house. I'll get some pictures up but im excited to see how it works and how loud i'll be

Its really not that bad, from the back and opposite side its not that noticable from someone on shore, its deffinitly worth it, i like being able to do tail stands and nose stabs and not worry about loading up.
do you have tdr box, on yours, so it solved all your loading up problems
Kawi 800
05-27-2008, 12:41 AM
Yea i have the TDR, after riding this weekend it is kinda loud. It dosent load up anything like it did b4 without side exhaust.
