550 throttle question

I need some info on switching my daughters 550 thumb throttle to a finger pull throttle. Can anyone tell me what parts are needed for this conversion?? I.E. different cable, adapter, brand of finger throttle etc.

Its a 91 550 sx with the thumb throttle that you can limit the throttle if that makes a difference.

i have new, hot prods aluminum finger throttles herre for 30.00 + s&h. they come in either silver or black. for a 91, you will not need any adapters or anything else. you may have to make a cable adjustment at the carb end.

Converted two skis over last year without much of a problem. If you are adding ODI grips then get a set of handle bars from ZIG (0 or 4 degree) the stock bars are too short.

Also you get more control with the 0 or 4 bars. ODI grips are the way to go! I was pulling my old grips off all the time...

And I own the throttle that Zig sold me the same one as he has there. It works very well, and is half the price of the others that look the exact same...

If i am not mistaken, Wildwood put my old Power Bend bars (4 degree with a forward kick on the ends) on there.........

i have stock bars with odi grips but a thumb throttle but i want a finger throttle

go to a local bike shop, get a small brake lever, cost 5-10 bucks and works as good as anything else

You do have to make the adjustment. Or i did, when i added the blowsion finger throttle to mine it messed up the idle so it would idle straight and not turn. Had to change that pretty quick.
