The pole weighs about 10.5 lbs, not exactly a lightweight but it's built superstrong! Most of it's weight is at the bottom and you don't need a chinpad. A stock chinpad can weigh 6.5 lbs waterlogged, that's not a guess, I've weighed it. You can also use a stock pole spring, some aftermarket poles don't give you that option. Here beyond conjecture is the epitome of bling combined with the strenght of billet aluminum and clear coated texalium without mendacious shipping promises!
I have 2 of these poles and they are INCREDIBLE! I would clearcoat the aluminum thgough if going to be used in salt..

is it to big to anodize?
beats me...all I know is it didnt come ano..everything else has been, just not the poles..
anodization is a dipping process, correct? If so, its too late now as the skin on these poles is attatched with something similar to yamaha green glue (plexus?)

anodizing is dipping in acid and adding electricity so yea it should be bare. I'd be afraid you couldn't cover everything with paint with it assembled.

It's not too big to fit anodizing tanks, however that's not an option now. Like Idok stated the fiberglass is glued to the aluminum and cannot be removed. Clearcoating or painting the aluminum is probably the only option now. We've all seen what polished AC poles look like after they've been wet!

Bluegtate and I just didn't get lucky. I remember when we ordered them that he sent us the hoods first, and then the brackets. Said he had been waiting on them. To get them to us, he must have not had them anodized.
I also remember when Brett ordered his bracket that he waited longer to get his bracket anodized black.

Yes, it has provision for mounting the steering cable on the left side for Kawasaki use. UMI, Blowsion or Hot Products for example have wider pivot bushings for Kawi use. This will adapt a SJ pole for Kaw use. Look at www.hotproductsusa.com in the handle pole section.

The pole bracket on the REV hull I'm trying to sell is anodized.

'cause I wanted to have a ski with an 800 based engine, did not want to use a stock hull for that. After I got most of the parts together, I realized that the only available (!) exhaust system is something I would not like and I did what I do best: I gave up on that project (daddy always did call me a quitter)

Awesome pole!!!
That's what she said...lol.

its the std. wet layup glass hull....2995 or whatever for hull, hood, brackets..
I also purchased pole, gas tank, pump shoe and full steering..
lighter? stronger? weaker? as compared to OEM? I dont know anymore and to be honest it really doesnt matter..
So many users on this site will argue tooth and nail as to which is the best glass/epoxy/layup blah blah blah...
truth is...maybe 3-5% of the riders IF THAT are able to tax these hulls to the point of which it matters
I can pancake my REV right onto its side and it feels solid as hell...My fx1 with the same impact will rattle your brains..
same with both of my previous squarenoses
The REV rides nearly as well (IMO) as my 367lb surf reinforced OEM 96 roundie..
I have no idea on the dry weight of my boat, but I know its <300lbs....
