Ok, I got a teaser ready for you all to view. Remember its amatuer footage with amatuer editing so dont expect much. Its 16 minutes long and I've only gotten through half the footage so far. Sorry saki, I didnt get to your stuff yet :banghead:

Quality is low to keep the file small, its compressed 83% for the web :rolleyes: .

DjKorn, I'm super sorry, your boat seemed to be missing from the teaser somehow and I didnt realize it till after I sent it. Killer boat btw.

A much better vid will be coming, just need to get my firewire, and a few other things straightened out first.

Thanks for the compliments guys, like I said its just a quick teaser I threw together yesterday. Once I get my firewire setup, and hopefully some better editing stuff (windows movie maker sucks), I'll have all the footage on a full vid.

And sfl, I was considering that shot, and now that I think of it, I probably wont put it on the final cut. I had alot of people ask if I got that shot though, so I threw it in there.

2 more discs to sort through, and there will be more of a variety of riders. The ones I went through already just happened to have alot of stoyer going big. Any suggestions for music would be helpful too. Hard to find songs that will suit everyones style.

And Chris, your stuff is insane, no worries about me, im just a shmuck with a camera letting people see what they missed. You and Ronny are the true pros!!

Unfortunately I'm using a mini dvd cam. Not the best for doing what I'm doing.
I use a program called virtual dub to rip the videos to the computer, but after they are ripped to the computer the vid files are like 40 gig files. So I had 4 40 gig vid files to edit. Windows movie maker didnt like that at all :rolleyes: . So I opened the videos in Ulead dvd movie factory and put them all together and saved it as a compressed avi file. Now I had a 200 meg file to work with which is much better for movie maker. Then after I made the video with movie maker, I saved it as a windows streaming video to compress it even more. Sucks because It loses about 80% quality, but makes it better for uploading for people to download. I'll have 10% compressed video on a dvd when I make the final one, but that will way too big of a file to put on the net for download, so I'll save another version which is compressed for internet downloads.

Romack991, MiniDV is actually HIGHER quality video than DVD,
because it doesn't compress the video as it is being recorded.
When you capture MiniDV, it comes off the camera to the computer
raw and uncompressed.

The crappy resolution you are seeing is because you are using the USB
interface on your camcorder. Many cameras out there have both Firewire
and USB interfaces....the firewire is for capturing high-resolution video,
and the USB is usually for capturing still images or "web-cam" quality video.
This is not ALWAYS the case, but it's quite common. From what you
are describing, I'm sure that is the case with your camcorder.

I'm willing to bet you have a firewire interface on your Sony (it might be
called IEEE1394 in your manual, or iLink since you have a Sony). THAT is
what you want to use to capture video.

You can pick up a 3 port $25.00 firewire card for your computer at your
local Wal-Mart if you don't have firewire interfaces on your computer
already, or mail order one for $10.00-$15.00 at newegg.com.

You will be very pleased with what you can capture from your MiniDV
camcorder through the firewire interface.

I just watched this video again, for like the 5th time... man I am so stoked for this weekend to get here... Just watching Stoyer go off is awesome!!!

i know i'm gonna get flamed for this but i am gonna say it anyways. let me start off by saying i am in no way saying i can do anything remotely close to freestyle, but i am tired of seeing the same people in vids. i know its hard to get everyone but there are more than like 5 people going big. I for one would like to see more of marsh and ratti. Maybe a little less pancaking backflips off a double up. Anyone remember last year when super rob was doing backies off cruiser wakes? the lesser known guys are goin big too. I'm not trying to diss anyone, i am really impressed with everyone goin for the backie, just it gets old seeing people not land them over and over. Anyone remember how much crap was made about Gary Burtka going for one at Havasu a few years back?Ihave to say I think the most impressive thing i saw in the vid was pat's no handed roll with the twist. I also have to agree that Stoyer was going huge. Awesome vid though. Make me wish i had been in town to go.

the video missed a lot of action by pros and amatures alike...

You got to understand these videos you are seeing are amature shots and they are not setup and/or equiped to get all the people riding, so what happens is, they focus on the guy who is doing the most stuff... and that is normally going to be the pro riders... it's just how that works... no worries man.....I would have liked to see some more peeps in the vid too...but, I have a feeling that there will be a full length vid here VERY soon....

on the other hand, when you are learning trricks something like this with the same person doing sweet flatwater trix (aka the destroyer) you can kinda catch the vibe on how they are doing things...

Unfortunate3ly I didnt get steve's backflip, he was on the other side of the lake and I couldnt see him too well from where I was. When there are 40 skis going big its hard to get everyone. Chris and the Addictionis is where its at. I'm doing this just for fun with no need for recognition. Thats why I didnt put my name in it. Its for the riders!!!
