I just went to the camp ground and talked to Spike, got alot of info. He's gonna let us use Turtle Tip, also over flow tent campers can camp in the activity area right next to Turtle Tip.

Turtle Tip is for popup campers only, but he said we can put tents on there also. Heres the deal, one big tent or two small tents can fit, only one or two cars can fit on the sites. Sites are $30 and not sure what they are gonna do about extra tents.

I have site 272 for my 40' RV, I did friday night and sat night, I'm gonna set up friday night so we are ready for sat.

Anyone else that plans on comming can call and reserve any of turtle tip for a popup or tent.

per night, but if you have 2 people a tent is half that... It did sound a little high, I may try to get him to do 22 per first tent...maybe cheaper.

The sites on turtle tip are allot nicer than then his "official" tent sites. Also this way we can all be together. 15 sites that can hold 2-3 tents easily we definitely will not have to worrie about not being enough room. on top of the side yard "activity area, by the picture" he will let us have if we run out of space for overflow which was very nice.

I'm sure the sooner we know how many people will be attending we might be able to talk him down on the price. I haven't met the guy yet but he seems very negoshable and is happy to have us.

Also Definitely let us know if you plan on making the event, go ahead and call the campground 704-483-5611 ask for Spike. Tell him your with the jetski freeride or he wont let you reserve the sites on turtle tip since we are holding them. Let us know # people your bringing along.

Also if your not 100% committed just post so we can add you to the list as a potential, so we can gauge interest in the ride.

Not recomended... Yea you can have a tent on these sites or a small camper/enclosed trailer.

There are a couple of sites left, but there is over flow camping and you can always have more than one tent per site.

Mooresville is where you want to go for a hotel, its a 15 min ride from the campground.

Well I went to the campground yesterday and talked to a 3rd person. I cant sleep in our enclosed trailer so I moved my site to one I can put our 40' motor home on. They also said no selling T's or anything so WE will have to keep it on the down low... The shirts will be done tomarrow if anyone wants theirs early. Also most of the visitors will have to park up top and walk down or shuttle people down to the sites, there is not enough room to park everyone down there unless you have a campsite. There is 5 sites reserved on Turtle Tip with our group, there is also another one reserved to someone thats not in our group:( There are six more sites left and if we dont reserve them, they are open to anyone. Come on people lets get reserving!!!

For parking you might have to bring you ski and gear down to one of the sites or the field next to the sites, drop it off and park up top:frown:. Someone should be able to come get you, or you can walk back down. I'll try to push them to allow us to park some down in the campground.

got the van and ski trailers towed in.
mechanic putting the V8 back together. timing grears totally stripped.
hopefully I didnt whack my valves.
if I did, I wont be able to tow skis anytime soon; new top end

good questions, there is everything in moorsville. race gas, av gas, and pump gas, also has good dinning. This is all about 10-15mins away from the site. i'm sure their are a few closer, Billy?

Campfire are allowed, and i'm pretty sure we can just pull the ski's up on the grass just out of the water. :shhh: I'm planing on campfire meals so i can spend the rest of the money on gas :bananapowerslide:

Gas station/gereral store across the street, burger king, hardees, subway, kfc and taco hell 5 min from the campground, along with a seafood resturant and steak house walking distance away. Like griff said Mooresville is 15 min away with everything under the sun there.

New prop is in the ski and I pick up the RV tomarrow night, just need to plan for food and I'm ready.

Anyone there friday night feel like BBQ? There is a awsome place up the road and thought if peeps wanted to throw in a few bucks we could have some killer BBQ friday night. I could get my wife to bring it down, and everyone pay me back or something. I have 8-10 people already, anyone else?

WDKfan/Brian just gave me a ring he and his crew just got set up.

The report is no grills, but their is a fire pit per site with a picket table.
Also they are charging an arm and two leg for fire wood, so bring some if you can to save a few bucks.

I don't have boat numbers, mainly b/c my pole broke 2 seasons ago and haven't put new ones on. i just tell them i my hood broke last weekend. over and over.. lol

I would bring the fire extinguisher, they always ask for it and about 20% of the time they ask to see it. However this is a pretty seclueded area of the lake, but theirs not much going on this time of year so the cops might check in because they have nothing else better to do on the lake. However if they do, you should be able to see them coming.. check the google.maps link in the main post. You'll see what i'm trying to say.
