Mexico Or Pismo.. That's The Question

pro's and cons ??..

Im in for keeping the Mexico rager going, some want to move it to Pismo..

my pro's for Mexico are.....

you can camp right on the beach on a lil rock bluff over looking the ocean..
great veiw watching the ski's,
cheap shopping (if the weather stinks),
can drink and be merry with no worries,
lock your ski's right on the beach,
big bon fires on the beach,
a place to get away from rules
a place to just get away from the city life..
It keeps a option for people who cant make it on a certain date but might make it to the other place (mex or pismo)

IF MEXICO IS REPLACED IT MORE THAN LIKELY WILL BE GONE FOREVER !!!

cons are..

have all your ducks in order to aviod tickets/hassles
dealing with those same venders 50 times in one day

Im thinking of a way to build it back up to the way it was "at the best of days/times" maybe throwing in some money/givaways/raffle ?? (I will cover $1000.00 cash)

1. $400.00 to anyone completing a double back flip ?
2. $300.00 to the best double barrel roll ? (riders pick)
3. $200.00 best new trick/farthest/highest jump ? (riders pick)
4. $100.00 best injury of the weekend or longest road trip to get there ?
5. Raffle off a round nose ? $100.00 a ticket ?
6. pay the locals $100.00 to bring up a major load of firewood (sat nite)
7. Tee shirt givaways ? (I can get those for nuttin)

by the way this place is only a lil past Rosarita 35 miles into Mexico (not deep into Mexico)
last year aaa insured our ski's for $20,000.00 for $140.00 for 4 days

these are only idea's at this point (but im serious)

Set it up, more power to you, it's just going to have to be a different time then after WF's. IFWA wants the freeride event the week after finals to make it easier on the euro's who travel here, and I agree there is nothing easy about going overseas and competing in events.

It may seem that I want to take over keeping the Mex rager going but the way I see it and all the replies I got from asking about it.. there seems no other way.. WE ALL NEED TO HELP OUR SPORT GROW !! I'm willing to put my best into it..

I know it will have to be bumped to the weekend after Oceanside..

I know all about the World finals and Oceanside free ride (takeastand SJ) and if SOMEONE would set a date we could too !!

If anyone could help me look into the right direction ATTRACTING more people, getting sponsers, photographer, give-a-ways, caterer, AWA ? etc. or some other idea's PLEASE DO !!

There is possible plans in Pismo for the weekend after Oceanside too. I'm all for the Mex rager and it's cool what you are trying to do, I'm just trying to help.

I know about the "thinking of " date change and it does sound like some really good things will happen too to go along with it !!

I'm still not sure why there needs to be a date change (keeping things in the dark)..

But one thing that should be noted.. Oct. is a sucky time of year in Pismo..

my choice of going some where in the fall would be as far south as i can get..

now starting sometime in nov/dec.. the north swells start up and wooooo hoooo !!

O-side to pismo is about a 4.5 hour drive at best. Pismo is my beach but the weather at that time of year is very unpredictable.

Wish it was not one or the other.

I was just informed that the world finals will be sept.30th - oct.8th. I was told that these dates are set in stone.. location looks like Crazy Horse but Calif. is a option also.. I guess the ISJBA had to come up with a date but not a location..

The free ride looks to be still trying to work something out in ocean side.. If it happens on the 13th - 15th the MEX RAGER will follow
that on Oct. 20th - 22nd

If O-side doesnt happen the MEX RAGER will be on the 13th-15th

The dates should be set shortly for O-side if it happens.. (they need to give enough notice for overseas people )

As soon as info comes out about O-side... flyers for Mexico will be posted !! THE MEX RAGER LIVES !!!!

I was just contacted by the IFWA and was told.. the location hasn't been set but the dates have been changed from Oct. 14th - 15th to Oct. 21st - 22nd 2006..

Now Im getting conflicting dates for the IFWA round 4 (USA).. the boss guy (Marcelo Brandão) said 21st-22nd but three other people have said it's staying (but looking into it) on Oct. 14th-15th

It also looks like we might get a few international riders !!

I will keep everyone posted if any changes are made !!
