factory pipe

Hi buds,

Back in 95, i had a fx1 and put a Factory pipe on it. After that, i put a Protec wakeup kit on it. I found both of them to be very loud. As i remember, they were much louder than the stock pipe.

I asked Group K about this, and Harry was very surprised that i thought the ski was louder than stock. As i am looking to upgrade my ski, i would like to know what others think about the stock vrs Factory pipe noise levels of a FX1.
I know that a stock FX1 is louder than most to start. Input please.

I just didn't recognize a huge difference in volume when we put the B pipe on. Yes, it was somewhat louder, but not a huge difference, mostly a different tone. Perhaps you changed the water box, too, way back when? That is what seems to make the most difference (other than front exhaust) and is (and apparently was) a common mod.

B pipes aren't usually very loud with stock water box. Some dry pipes are a little louder.
