i would like to hear from the board a good baseline jet spec to start with.
this is what i got

-kawi 650 stock bore, stock porting

-205psi comp

-mariner pipe

-weastcoast w-box

-straight 15.5

-single sbn44

-vp110 40:1 synthetic

when i got the carb it was jetted for a 701 b-pipe, i took it out today and it ran good but had a little hesitation on both low and high. i dont have much experience with ski carbs yet so i need a little guidance to get me going.

thanks
matt

As long as it's not a Yamaha OEM 44, 120L/140H works pretty well to start with, then you'll probably end up leaner. Around 25psi popoff, whatever combination to get that.

WSM ,I just bought some oem Mikuni jets for mine from WPS .I had to buy a pack of four so to get the 4 jets I needed I ended up with 16 jets,15 of which I will probably never use again. No help to you Rags as they are way too big for your application.I can however get you pilot and main jets for $1.50 a piece plus the cost of a stamp of course. They come in 1/2 sizes also just like oem jets.

ive got a 650 sx set up similar to your ski, remember that it gets humid as hell here in the summer but with the stock f/a i run 122.5 low and 165 main with i think the gold spring, might be silver. when i run a fly f/a i move up to a 180 main. runs great. ski will turn around 6700 with the fly and about 6450/6500 with the stock box. thats about all she has in her. good luck

Wedo can help with the jets ,all he needs is an ok and to send payment with a SASE.I can handle it from there.
